SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOU
Each social media
site is unique with
no two having
exactly the same
purpose. They have
their own look,
features, audience,
and content.
Here are a few
suggestions for your
search for a social
media site to join:
Research and discover your options.
Certain social media sites can be used on
a mobile device or a computer but some
are only available as an app for a
cellphone or tablet.
Ask a friend, family member, or coworker
to show you their favorite social media
site to use.
Try the site out for yourself. Most social
media sites allow you to delete your
account if you choose. This will give you
an impression of what sort of audience
and content that particular platform has
as a focus.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOU
If you’re curious about which social media
you should choose out of the options listed
here or any others you may encounter in
your research, keep a few things in mind:
Consider how you will access the site
before signing up for an account.
All of the services we have discussed
are available as a mobile app.
Instagram and Snapchat are not fully
functional on a computer.
Each site will look different when
accessed on a computer versus a mobile
device, as well.
