Social Impact Recruiting – Networking
Start with classmates
Talk with peers & 2nd years about their social impact experiences
Get insights on the subsectors, ask your “basic” questions
Extend your efforts out to: Alumni (Wharton and UG) & your network
Conduct informational meetings:
Ask about careers, how they got where they are today
Discuss the work of their organization
Talk about the content of the work, uncover relevance to your interests + background
Ask for advice about who else you should speak with / investigate
Send a thank you and keep door open for future re-connect
Tips:
• Outreach for a trek or conference can be a great way to connect
• As well as interviewing for an academic obligation (people like helping students!)
