3. Concealer Brush

The concealer brush isan amazing brush! It getsinto the grooves o theace where the averagebrush can’t reach. Thisbrush is usually rm andsynthetic and made orthe purpose o applyingcreamy products such as

concealer.It distributes

the concealer to asmooth and non-creasy texture on the

skin.

4. Foundation Brush

Now this brush isoptional but I suggest thati you wear liquid or creamoundation then this is agreat tool to have. By usingthis brush, you will saveso much more product.You would be shockedto see how ar a smalldrop o oundation with a

oundation brush will go inlieu o a sponge. It tends tosoak up so much more othe product in the processo distribution, whereaswith the oundation brush,it is much easier to gauge.Also, the nish is so muchmore sot and even.

5. Lip BrushA lip Brush is always

great to have in your caseand in your purse ortravel. This brush is anawesome tool or applyinglipstick more preciseand dened. It will alsohelp you get the most oryour money with your lipproducts. For example,there is a large amount oproduct let in the bottomo your tube o lipstickthat can’t be used unlessgoing in with a brush. Soyou are getting more oryour dollars when you

can actually reach thebottom o the tube. Thelip brush is also great orlip gloss. Some lip glossescome with a brush or doeoot attached to the lid

but those that don’t, thisbrush is great or squeezeor pot glosses that don’thave an applicator.

Cleaning and maintainingyour brushes

It is important to cleanyour brushes in betweenuse. This can be done by

using a brush cleaner thatwill condition the hairsalong with disinectingor sanitary purposes. Iwould suggest this processbe done ater your day today use. But at least oncea week. Take all o yourbrushes and give them athorough cleansing with

a conditioning shampooto provide them with athorough cleaning. Aterthis is done, squeeze theheads o the brushesbetween your index andmiddle nger, lay on theside o a fat surace andlet them air dry. I suggestthis process be done

overnight, so by the timeyour ready to use them inthe morning they will beclean and dry.

T

he name Erica Kane is iconic. For 40

years the mere mention o it brings

to mind the “All My Children” soap

diva – a small in stature ashionistawith an agenda, that’s nothing to play

with. Well, one o Cleveland’s children

bearing the same name (give or take a

ew dierent letters) is no dierent. She

not only ts the description, but turns it up

a notch with an upgrade or two o course.

A big eat or such a petite person, but as

our own Erika Kayne has proved, looks are

denitely deceiving. Who would ever think

that the songbird who’s been pursuing herpassion since the age o 14 would wind up

doing 18 months in the Ohio Reormatory

or Women in Marysville, Ohio at the age o

20? Who knew that the girl with the ever-

growing an base still has a unny eeling

that she may not make it i she stays in her

hometown. And who ever knew that such

a vigorous voice could come out o such

a small rame?

The 23-year-old,

5’6” songstress

appears to be morelike “America’s Next

Top Model” as opposed to an “American

Idol.” But, she’s no lightweight. And once

her boisterous voice weighs heavy on your

ears, you’ll know she’s walking the right

runway and is prepared or takeo.

So who is Erika Kayne?

“Erika Kayne is just a normal, regular

girl. I live a normal lie. I work a job. But

I sing, and that’s what I love to do. But,regardless o it all, I’m a normal person,”

said the aspiring singer who poses as an

Embassy Suites Hotel worker by day.

Outside o singing an occasional happy

birthday to her hotel patrons, Erika is

working overtime on her dream job to

present her ans with the material they love.

And boy does she have a lot o ans!

So many that she’s had to create multiple

Facebook pages that are all at capacity

or riend requests. “Without your ans

you’re nothing. I I didn’t have them I

would just be ‘that girl who can sing.’

And I have to say, having them is

the best eeling in the world,”Erika expressed with sincerity.

“I make my music or them.

They send me Facebook and

Twitter messages, voicemails

and text messages telling

me how they’re having these

problems and how my music

helped them through it. My music

pertains to lie usually, so their

issues are my issues. That’swhy the album I’m working on

now is titled ‘Through All My

Struggles.’”

A lot o people don’t

know this, but at the age

o 20 I went to jail,”

Erika revealed.

“That was

the biggest

struggle or

me. Having

to come

home

and

bounce

back rom the mistakes

that I made and still pursuing

what it is that I had to do was the

biggest struggle I’ve ever had to endure

in my lie. I sat down and just thought

about where I could have been i I didn’t

do what I did to be where I was.” What

she did was argue, ght and later regret

the altercation she had with the mother

o an ex-boyriend’s child. According to

Erika, ater a stint o prank phone calls

were made to her by the woman – who

decided to show up ve carloads deep to

ght her and her two riends – a gun was

drawn and beore she knew it, she was

in handcus. Although no one was hurt

physically, Erika had to endure the pain

o spending her 21st birthday in prison,

patiently waiting to come home while

the boyriend had another baby with

the woman she had the trouble with.

Though he is odder or most o

the heartelt ballads

Erika has belted out,

she insists that that

relationship is a thing

o the past and that the

two are actually civil to

this day.“Now that I’ve

matured and I’ve grown

I’ve learned to live

with it and see that

it’s made me who I

am,” she said o her

mistake. “It’s made

me a bigger person and

I can’t hide it anymore,

the world really needs toknow. I’m a normal person, I

go through things I struggle

and mess up just like the rest

o the world. I’m like Mary J.

when she started o. Mary

had problems, Erika has

problems. I’m a little happier

now. I’m not stressing no

more, I don’t wanna talk

about breakin’ up no more.

Despite the love she

gets rom her ans she

still eels jaded by the

city she calls home

and is in the process

o making a decision

that may just take

her talents to Atlanta,

L.A. or Texas. (South Beach

was already taken.) “It’s very

hard making it rom here but

I’ve been at it so long and my

determination level is so high I

won’t give up, and I won’t give up

on Cleveland. But, have I had my

thoughts about leaving Cleveland?

Yeah, plenty o times. I go to other

cities and I see how their hospitality

is or their hometown artists and I

don’t see that in Cleveland. I know i

I can make it in Atlanta and they’ll

play me out there… I’m going. I’m

thinking about leaving Cleveland…

real soon.”

There are several hair coloring

techniques that can be used to turn anyhair style rom boring to bold. Heresa ew examples. I’m sure one will beperect or you!

For those who want just a small toucho color, a ew highlights throughout thetop o the head is a settle why to addexcitement to any style or length.

Another option to add spice to thehair is a two-toned color. Part the hair

technique is typically used on neck-linebobs or longer tresses.

Color the entire head o hair anintense red, blonde, or any color oyour choice to turn this hot cut into aconversation piece. You can also take a1-2 inch width o hair rom the ront o

the head and high or low-light it or aneven unkier look.

I you are araid o permanent color,your hair is too weak or hair color, oryou just want temporary color or aspecial occasion, don’t worry, coloredextensions is another option you can useand still get the same results!

Coloring the hair can add beauty to anyordinary style. However, Be sure to take
