The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Britain – or Great Britain (GB) – is the name for England,

Wales and Scotland. (1921)

Six counties (1707) Acts of Union

The United Kingdom (UK) consists of 4 countries which are England, Scotland, Wales

and Northern Ireland. Each country has its own capital, flag

and symbol.

More than 56 million people live in the two main islands: Great Britain and Ireland.
