Export each individual component/element of the model as an individual OBJ file. e.g. All the legs will have the name Leg#.OBJ, where # is the respective number for every “Leg” component. This principle applies for every element of the model. Each component has a name and an individual number for that specific element.

Export an individual .DWG file for every respective component of the model. e.g. All the 2D DWG files has to have a corresponding name with the 3D OBJ component. Thus for the Leg1.OBJ you will need to make sure to have a corresponding Leg1.DWG file and so on.c element.

For every custom component that you create you need to use custom_ as a prefix to the name of the original component. Furthermore you need to make sure that the custom component has the exact same coordinates as the original component. e.g. If we were to customize the Leg1.OBJ component, we need to make sure that the customized data is in the exact same position as the original data, and both the OBJ and DWG data are exported as custom_Leg1.OBJ and custom_Leg1.DWG.

Organize your data in a hierarchical Folder structure such as the name of your design being the Main Folder and the components being arranged in Sub-Folders within the Main Folder. Furthermore if you want to have multiple components substituted/exchanged at the same time, instead of saving the customized OBJ files in the same folder as the original OBJ file, save them in a new folder called custom_FolderName.
