BASIC STRUCTURE OF THE SYSTEM:

A unified water meter that includes a Wi-Fi transmitter, used to follow up water consumption and conveying their data to the control center. Wi-Fi Access Point - A communication unit used to receive transmissions sent from the water meters and as a repeater that bridges the distances from the transmitting water gauge to the central unit. Digital Central Unit (DCU) - a unit designed to store the data transferred from the field and deliver them to the control center.Communication server - The communication server is used to manage the communication with the DCUs and to transfer the data collected by the DCU's to the control center.

Application Server - the application server is a MDM (Meter Data Management) system with a main designation of gathering, storing and providing tools for analysis of the data received from the meters. The system has additional tools intended to complement the solution and provide the entire tools required to manage the remote reading system. The user interface includes various levels of use, ranging from the administrator, through the corporation's engineers and users to the end user. The user interface is made of a report generator and intersections of data retrieval, pre-fabricated report management tools, dashboard, geographic display, alarm management tools, equipment management tool as well as settings screens and an administrator.

DESIGN AND EXECUTION TESTING:The system includes an analysis and control capability over the system's communications components. This allows monitoring the transmission and reception quality of each of its components. As the system is Wi-Fi based, there is a range of frequencies from which the frequency best suitable to the environment in which the system is installed.

In normal operation, the end unit will transmit once every 30 seconds a data and status records. The rate of transferring the data can be adjusted.

ALERTS:Detection of low battery will be performed by the electronic circuit itself by carrying out battery voltage sampling. A special algorithm determines when to perform the sampling and in what frequency and tests the results compared with the voltage threshold set to issue a battery alarm. Identification of a leak or seep is done by determining a threshold of water consumption and setting off a timer in the end unit. When the unit detects a continuous consumption over the time set, an alarm of a leak is registered. Upon detection of a leak or a seep, the appropriate alarm is sent. The unit can detect tampering with an external magnet or magnetic field by detecting an offset in the Magnometer sensor. The circuit can handle and vet the external magnetic disturbances so they do not influence the water metering.

          .. ALERTS:Detection of the setting off of the meter is done with an accelerometer type component. The accelerometer detects motion in various axes and allows identification of the meter offset.Damage or tampering to the water meter is detected by way of the accelerometer. The unit uses an algorithm that analyzes the motion of the meter by data received from the accelerometer and determines whether this is a offset of a tampering.The supported types of malfunctions and alarms: - Low battery - A short leak or prolonged consumption (over a period of 24 hours) - Detection of an external magnetic field - Reverse flow - Detection of tilting the water meter by more than 20° - Detection of physical tampering

REPEATERS AND RELAYS:The system is based in CPE units, access points and designated repeaters. The end units communicate with the access points on a 2.4 GHz frequency. In order to increase the system's coverage and allow for the solution of specific problems, the system uses CPE units and repeaters. The access point unit is connected to the web through a landline of a 3G cellular network. Transferring the data from the access point to the DCU is done immediately to allow swift treatment of alarms and full control of the data. Options for sources of energy to the relay: • Power from the grid - 220V • Solar plates - in case of a connection to a solar source of energy, the relay will receive a voltage of 6 to 24 VDC and would be able to operate for 7 days without sunlight. • Batteries - in case of use of batteries, the relay will receive a voltage of 3.6 to 12 VDC and would be able to operate for two years until battery replacement.

INTERFACING THE COMPUTING ANDINFORMATION SYSTEMS:The proposed system interfaces with the corporation's existing information systems will be carried out automatically without human intervention and will meet the following requirements:

The direct connection between the databases (Nisko's and of another system) Data connection by way or a mediator (ASCII files, CSV files, MS-Access, mediating SQL database, etc.) Generation of clear log files for every transaction between the systems and issuing an alert in case of interface problems Support of authorization of both systems Linking the tables and parameters will be done through a drag and drop interface while using detection of taxonomic matches for the purpose of connecting the interfacing process. Following the corporation's demand, the systems will be connected bi-directionally
