Allah’s command for Muslims, FASTING here as a form of training in
self restrain and therefore something go against man’s desire and
therefore is disliked. Yet Allah SWT assures Muslims that it would be
made easy for them.

Standard of righteousness or of one doing good deeds in Islam
is absolute in that, it “must be done as an act of worship, i.e. of
serving Allah s.w.t.”
Thus, apart from ensuring the act to be correct according to the
teaching of His prophet, Allah requires that it must be done
with sincerity:

“And they have been commanded no more than this: to worship
Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being True (in faith);”
(Qur’an: Bayyinah: 98: 5)
Standard of righteousness or one doing good deeds in Islam is

As the fasting is indeed an act of devotion or worship for seeking nearness
in obedience to Allah SWT, making intention for it is essential (RUKUN).
It teaches Muslims to be conscious and be fully aware with knowledge of It teaches Muslims to be conscious and be fully aware with knowledge of
what he is about to do, and making his/her resolve to observe it with what he is about to do, and making his/her resolve to observe it with

SWT. And since fasting is not so much about doing a deed but rather SWT. And since fasting is not so much about doing a deed but rather

It is highly recommended for Muslims to take SAHUR as It is highly recommended for Muslims to take SAHUR as

“When half of the night or two-third of it is over. Allah,
the Blessed and the Exalted, descends to the lowest
heaven and says:
‘Is there any beggar, so that he be given?
Is there any supplicator so that he be answered?
Is there any seeking forgiveness so that he be forgiven?’
(And Allah continues it saying) till it is daybreak.”

the night had passed, He says: “My slave does not ask of
anyone other than Me. Whoever calls upon Me, I will
answer him; whoever asks of Me, I will give him;
whoever asks My forgiveness, I will forgive him,” until
dawn comes.”

(Fajr/Subuh) prayer are better than this world and all it
contains.“

just ruler, and a fasting person until he breaks his fast. And,
the supplication of one who has been wronged is raised by
Allah up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the
gates of heaven are opened for it, and Allah says, ‘By My
Might I will help you (against the wrongdoer) even if it is
after a while.’”

do not behave obscenely or foolishly, and if any one argues with
you or abuses you, say, 'I am fasting. I am fasting.' “

thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend
therein by permission of their Lord for every
matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”

An important criteria for being grateful is ‘appreciation’.An important criteria for being grateful is ‘appreciation’.
It requires knowing the value of bestowals from Allah SWT – through It requires knowing the value of bestowals from Allah SWT – through

Allah has granted us in our Allah has granted us in our FITRAHFITRAH (nature) these senses which, (nature) these senses which,
unfortunately has become dulled due to our heedlessness and over unfortunately has become dulled due to our heedlessness and over
indulging habits. To restore these, one must allow it to be deprived of what indulging habits. To restore these, one must allow it to be deprived of what

It is interesting that without truly striving to attest with TAUHEED –
to attest that only Allah is god, the One unto whom we were
created to serve and worship exclusively , then a person may take
his / her Nafs (self) or Hawa’ (desires) as ‘god’ – which may lead to
the spiritual disease of ‘ujub (self-conceit) and riya’ (ostentations).

“In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful,
the Especially Merciful.
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds –
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
Guide us to the straight path –
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favour, not of
those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.”
(Qur’an: Surah al-Fatehah: 1: 1-7)

O Allah, forgive [the sins of ] the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, pardon [the faults of] the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, overlook [the shortcomings of] the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, excuse [show tolerance towards] the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, rectify [the imperfections of] the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, grant victory to the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, honour [with Your exaltation] the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, aid [with Your strength] the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, firmly establish the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, support the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, be Merciful to the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, grant success to the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, preserve [protect] the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, guard over the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, strengthen the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, cover over [the faults of] the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, grant relief to the Ummah of Muhammad
O Allah, be pleased with the Ummah of Muhammad

O Allah, aid the ones who aid them, and show enmity to those who show enmity towards them
Enable it to attain a manifest conquest

And the help most mighty in every time and place, to the utmost of that which it desires
O Allah, support by means of it Your upright Sacred way and clear religion

Perpetuate its honour and its glory till the day of Judgment
Our Lord! Accept this from us, for You are All Hearing and All-Knowing, and accept our repentance for You
are the One Who accepts repentance and are the Most Merciful

And salutations and blessings of peace be upon our Master Muhammad, and upon all the Prophets and Messengers, and all their families and companions.
And all praises is for Allah, Lord (Sustainer) of the worlds
