For examples: The client refused water last night. The patient vomited just now. The man felt so much pain this morning. I injected the patient just now.

For examples: The client didn’t refuse water last night. The patient didn’t vomit just now. The man didn’t feel so much pain this morning. I didn’t inject the patient just now.

RULES

Predicate form : Verb-2

Auxiliary:

Did = for all subjects

No auxiliary is needed in positive sentences. The auxiliary only exists in negative and interrogative sentences. If it exists, the main verb should be V-1.

Time expressions:

yesterday, last night, last week, last month, last

year, last Saturday night.

were= for plural subjects and you

The auxiliaries (was/were) are needed in all kinds of sentences to precede the V-ing.
