Slide 1 – Hello My name is Mandek Krol. I lived with my family in Warsaw poland during world war II. Being a doctor, I became wealthy allowing us to live In a large mannerly home.

Slide 2 – My son, Nelek, was just about to leave for school when me and My wife, Ewa, were eating breakfest.

Slide 3 – While we were eating, we heard that the Germans were invading Warsaw over a broadcast from the underground news over the radio.

Slide 5- After hearing this, we rushed to get out. We grabbed our things and were packing bags when the German soldiers invaded our home.

Slide 6- My wife tried to flee with my son…Both were shot on sight as I watched from the door way of my home.

Slide 7- After my family was killed in front of me, I was than taken with hundreds of other wealthy poles to the Pawiak prison. There I was rounded up with thousands of others that were captured.

Slide 8- Hundreds of the Prisoners were hanged. I was somewhat lucky to be shipped to the Auschwitz although it didn’t seem that way at the time.

Slide 9- I was shipped by rail way right up to the gates of Auschwitz.

Slide 10-There I met Jerek Gorski while working in the German factories. We were in the Same unit. I had someone that I could talk to and relate to. After all, he was separated from his family as well.

Slide 11- After months Of working in the Germans factories, I cut off my arm.

Slide 12-Afterwards I was sent to the medical experimentation building. Once I entered that building, I never left.
