The most important question to ask yourself when choosing a sixth form…
“Will I fit in?”
Let’s face it – it doesn’t matter how good an institution’s academic record happens to be. If it’s not the place for you, then you are not going to enjoy it and enjoyment is the key to success.
You already know Rugby High has a great record. Our students produce some of the best A-level results in the country. They must be enjoying themselves: but could it be right for you?
Successful girls are independent and hard working. They are open minded and prepared to consider things outside of their normal experiences. They perform better than average in their GCSEs and they are able to learn at a quick pace.
At RHS the atmosphere is inclusive and friendly. Staff and students respect each other. If this is attractive to you, it makes you a serious candidate for doing your A-levels with Rugby High.
Could you really see yourself coming into the Sixth Form at Rugby High?
“You are motivated to work and try really hard”
“You can see the dedication of our teachers – not just in the classroom but outside it too”
“It stands you in good stead for higher education or any career.
What future employer would not want that?”
“Rugby High gives me more of a flavour of what
there is to do beyond school: activities, clubs, speakers. I now have a
stronger sense of what I enjoy and that is where
you can grow from”What our students say about Rugby High
“It’s the best decision I’ve made for my education”
“Everyone in school wants the same thing, the same goal: to
reach our full potential. To be the best they can possibly be.”
“There is a wider range of options than most other schools”
“At the Open Evening you could see that teachers were passionate about what they
taught. They invest their time in you – not just in the classroom”
“No places are out of bounds. Everywhere is really welcoming.
You can study anywhere in school – if you don’t like the
library you can go somewhere else”
“It you gives you a very educational/academic route”
“Having been to Rugby High makes you stand out on a uni or job application
because of all the opportunities, trips, talks
it offers you”
“Right from the open evening, the school
seemed more interested in you as an individual and
your wellbeing”
“At the Open Evening it felt like everyone really wanted me to come to
the school”
“The first few weeks were a bit of a shock – quite different from my old school. Lots of staff and
girls reach out to you”
“The school prepares you for life outside without you realising.
You interact and talk to teachers more and then you take those
characteristics outside”
“Rugby High is not particularly cliquey. I fell comfortable talking
to lots of different people. Everyone is very inclusive. I have
noticed a massive difference from my old school”
“The teachers go beyond just doing their jobs. They really want
you to do well”
“There’s nothing I don’t like!”
What is Rugby High really like?
We are a girls’ school which means that everything that the school can provide is available to you. You could find yourself playing ‘Macbeth’ or surrounded by other girls in Computing or Physics classes. You can wear pink with pride and when you are waxing lyrical about the latest episode of ‘the Great British Bake Off’ everyone will know what you are talking about.
By the time they reach Sixth Form, the girls who’ve been at the school since year 7 have spent five years in a learning environment where everyone is encouraged to be themselves, support each other and be the best they can be – academically and socially.
These girls are intelligent, strong-minded and comfortable within themselves. They haven’t got the sort of insecurities that would make them unwelcoming to new people. Quite the opposite.
Whatever you want to do in life, two years with Rugby High will help you develop assertiveness, leadership skills and the broad horizons of a wide-ranging worldview. It will help you to find your voice as a happy, healthy and resilient young woman prepared for whatever the world might bring and ready to make a difference.
We’ll help you make sure you fulfil your potential. It’ll be hard work – but it will also be a lot of fun.
