Donald has over 25 years of experience in public accounting and chairs the Firm’s Assurance and Advisory and Quality Control Departments. He also heads the Firm’s Food and Beverage Practice. He is a well-known business consultant in the food distribution, food processing and manufacturing industries, writes for the Firm’s CPA Food Bites blog and also hosts a number of food and beverage networking groups.

Nidhi is an alumni of the Firm’s Food and Beverage industry practice and is also a guest writer for the firm’s CPA Food Bites blog. During her time with the firm she worked with both large and small corporations, each presenting a unique challenge to solve and learn from. She is currently a Product Manager at Rhubarb Studios, a venture community of creative collaborators.

Candace is Chief Executive Officer of Maverick Brands LLC, maker of Coco Libre coconut water. Coco Libre is the nutritional foundation for the company's growing family of purposeful beverages. She came to the beverage industry in 2004 after more than 20 years in senior financial management. She most recently served as COO and CFO of ZICO Beverages, where she built a world-class management team and was instrumental in the company’s growth and acquisition by the Coca-Cola Company in late 2013. She also served as an executive officer of Bossa Nova Beverage Company, a pioneer in the superfruits beverage segment, and played a pivotal role in its growth and subsequent sale to Beverage Holdings, parent company of Sunny Delight.

Ramona has more than 30 years of experience in delivering excellent business results for a variety of companies by leveraging strong brands or creating new ones. At Corazonas Foods, her vision was to put joy back into the lives of those who are living with high cholesterol by offering great-tasting, heart-healthy snacks. After selling that company, she founded a new company, Sun Harvest Salts, LLC. This unique company has the exclusive rights to distribute patented all-natural and low-sodium sea salts from a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Baja California, Mexico.
Bill Shen, PanelistDirector, Encore Consumer Capital
Encore Consumer Capital is a private equity firm focused exclusively on investing in food, beverage, and consumer products companies. He is responsible for deal origination, deal execution, as well as portfolio company oversight. Bill also serves on the Board of Directors for Ancient Harvest, Brownie Brittle, California Splendor, Navitas Naturals, and Thanasi Foods.
Ellen Chen, PanelistCo-Founder, Mendocino Farms
Ellen co-founded Mendocino Farms with Mario Del Pero in 2005, opening their first restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles. Since then, the company has added 10 more successful locations. After receiving an investment from private equity firm Catterton Partners, Mendocino Farms is now preparing to grow to 25 units in the Southern California market by 2018. As co-founder and President, Ellen offers the restaurant group a big-business perspective with an entrepreneur's passion.
