VOICE COMMUNICATIONThe City of Chicago requires that all high rise buildings built before 1975 have a one-way and two-way voice communication system in place by January 1, 2015. Fox Valley Fire & Safety can design and install a new voice communication system that will meet City of Chicago Municipal Code requirements.

STAIRWELL DOOR UNLOCKINGIn a fire emergency, the City of Chicago Municipal Code requires building stairwell doors to unlock automatically to allow tenants safe evacuation and to allow firefighters access. Fox Valley Fire & Safety can integrate stairwell door unlocking into a new high rise life safety system or provide a stand-alone unlocking system.

FIRE ALARM ELEVATOR RECALLCity of Chicago Municipal Code requires that all elevators be equipped with automatic fire recall, via an addressable fire alarm system. Upon an alarm condition, the elevators must automatically travel to a secure level of the building so that passengers can evacuate safely and firefighters can use the elevators for emergency operations. Fox Valley Fire & Safety can provide a stand-alone elevator recall system, or integrate elevator recall features into a new high rise life safety system.

HIGH RISE LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS

Fox Valley Fire & Safety provides emergency dispatching to meet all your service needs, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS - ANNUAL, SEMI-ANNUAL, QUARTERLY OR MONTHLYFox Valley Fire & Safety will inspect and test the fire alarm control panel, service, clean and test all devices and verify the signal to the monitoring station. Upon completion of this inspection, a Fire Alarm Test Report & Certification is sent to you and to your local Fire Department.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS - ANNUALFox Valley Fire & Safety will service the extinguishers at your location, including inspecting for damage, scheduled maintenance and test dates. We will check for proper coverage and location of your units. When this work is completed a new service tag and tamper seal will be attached; then your extinguishers will be code compliant for the period of one year.

RESTAURANT KITCHEN HOOD FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS - SEMI-ANNUALFox Valley Fire & Safety will inspect your system to assure that it will function properly in the event of a fire. Our technician will test the detection line (changing the fusible links when required); check fuel shutoffs and remote pull station. Then, we will verify that the nozzles are properly located over the appliances and check the test date of the system. We will update the service tag and a Commercial Cooking System Service and Inspec-tion Report will be sent to you and the local Fire Department.

EMERGENCY AND EXIT LIGHTING INSPECTION - ANNUALFox Valley Fire & Safety will, per NFPA Code, visually inspect and service your unit. Each unit is tested to verify that the battery is being properly charged, we will then discharge the unit, exercising the battery to determine that it will operate for the code required 90-minutes. If the unit is functional a tag will be affixed indicating the unit has been serviced. If the unit is not functioning it can be repaired or replaced at the time of the inspection. We will maintain an Emergency Light Inventory List and maintain the Emergency Light Inspection Report for our records.

SECURITY SYSTEMS - ANNUALDuring the annual inspection of your security system our technician will inspect all devices, test the back-up batteries, check the building for changes, verify the signal to the monitoring station and update your call list. Fox Valley Fire & Safety will send the Inspection Report to you and a Certificate of Protection will be sent to your insurance carrier.

ENGINEERED SYSTEMS - SEMI-ANNUAL Our technician will inspect your fire suppression panel and batteries. We will test the control heads, abort switches, pull stations, fan relay shutdowns, dampers, horns, bells, etc. We will clean and calibrate smoke detectors, verify positioning of nozzles for proper protection. The system tag will be updated and an Engineered System Service and Inspection Report will be sent to you. SPRINKLER SYSTEMS – ANNUAL, SEMI-ANNUAL, QUARTERLY OR MONTHLYFox Valley Fire & Safety will inspect your wet or dry sprinkler system. Our technician will check the sprinkler heads to assure proper type, placement and coverage. Additionally we will check for damaged, out of date or painted heads. Our technician will test the main drain and Inspector’s test valve, and exercise controls and valves. Upon completion of the inspection, a Fire Sprinkler Certificate of Inspection will be issued. Additionally, if you have a fire pump you will receive the Fire Pump Test Report.

BACKFLOW TESTING - ANNUALFox Valley Fire & Safety will perform the code required backflow test to assure that stagnant water in your sprinkler system, irrigation system, ice machine or boiler is not getting into the domestic water supply. The backflow device is tagged with the Inspection Report and a duplicate of this report will be sent to you.

VEHICLE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM - ANNUALFox Valley Fire & Safety will provide the inspection of the vehicle fire suppression system including tanks, hoses, thermostats, and other actuators and we will clear the hose lines. Upon completion of the inspection the system will be tagged with the Vehicle Fire Suppression Inspection Report and a copy of this report will be sent to you.
