In the event of a fire, a PV facility continues to be powered with dangerous voltage due to the direct current generated whilst the solar panels remain exposed to sunlight.Protection in such cases is ensured by traditional PV fail-safe tripping devices which show their limits when working in critical conditions, resulting in circuits failing to open and creating hazardous situations for people safety.
An innovative solution for fire safety• SIRCO PV PA are PV switch
disconnectors actuated by a pneumatic cylinder.
• Specially designed for roof PV installations, they ensure safe isolation of the PV circuits.
• The energy for the actuator is provided either by a compressed air cartridge and / or a compressed air network.
• This system operates in the same way as smoke extraction systems and can be connected directly to the same air network.
• The pneumatic power supply systems for safety are recognized and strongly recommended by firefighters.
SOCOMEC is the first company to provide PV switch disconnectors actuated by a pneumatic cylinder that are fully compliant with the recommendations and stipulations for pneumatic actuators in guide UTE C 15712-1 / -2 of 2012 / 09 / 10 and NF S 61-937 of 1990 / 12.
Tested and certified

tested and verified at 90 bars according to UTE C 15-712-1 /-2.
• CO2 cartridge meets NF S61-939 standard requirements for fire systems.

Ultra high reliability
• Making and breaking performed with well proven secured air network (no coils with poor reliability).
• Wide operating temperature from -10 °C to +70 °C.
• On-off positions available even in the absence of pneumatic power supply (by manual handle).
Flexibility
• Power supply may be provided by CO2 cartridge, compressed air network or both working together.
• Can be used in combination with the fire system’s pneumatic skydome.
• Manual or motorized operating modes, local or remote control, single or multiple actuations.
• Integration in different PV system architectures.
Full remote control
• Safety connection and disconnection performed by secured pneumatic power supply.
• Operating pneumatic pressure from 6 to 12 bars.
• Making and breaking performed without moving to the roof, both in the event of fire or to perform maintenance operations.
