WILDWOOD – Bil l -boards and Television spots for the Wildwoods this spring in the New York Metro Area markets will let vacationers know that the Wildwoods are open for business – and are planning once again an event-fi lled summer of fun in the sun.
The Wildwoods “Think Summer & Join Us!” Cam-paign is designed to bring vacationers to New Jersey and keep the Wildwoods top of mind as potential visitors make their sum-mer plans. Messaging on billboards and in television commercials lets vacation-ers know that the Wild-woods’ expansive award-winning free beaches and exciting two-mile board-walk – virtually unscathed by Superstorm Sandy – are “open for business”, and this summer promises to be as action-packed and fun-fi lled as ever.
“We are pleased to re-port that the Wildwoods were virtually unaffected by Superstorm Sandy – and we’re very grateful for that,” said John Siciliano, executive director of the Greater Wildwoods Tour-ism Improvement & De-velopment Authority. “Our hearts go out to the areas that were affected, but we have to get the message out that a good portion of the Jersey Shore will be open and we hope vaca-tioners will support New Jersey’s tourism economy. It is with gratitude that we are promoting our plans for another fantastic sum-mer, and our attractions, businesses, free beaches and boardwalk will be fully operational to allow our wonderful visitors to enjoy a great vacation,” he added.
The television commer-cial started airing March 1 in the New York Metro Area and can viewed via this link: http://signa-
tureteam.com/staging/wildwoods/2013-02-26/.
Vacationers don’t have to wait until the summer to enjoy the Wildwoods. With many exciting spring events commencing in early March and continu-ing right up until Memo-rial Day, the vacationing season starts earlier every year in the Wildwoods. OCEAN CITY – St. Pe-ter’s Methodist Church, in conjunction with Ocean City Tabernacle, will pres-ent a live dramatization of Leonardo da Vinci’s paint-ing, “The Last Supper” on March 28, and March 29, at 7 p.m. The drama will be held at the Ocean City Tabernacle, 550 Wesley Ave. Admission is free (offering received).
With 13 living char-acters, the cast remains “frozen” in their positions, duplicating the famous painting. One by one, each disciple breaks his “freeze” and speaks his mind in light of the words he has just heard Jesus speak… “One of you will betray me,” at which point each man responded, “Lord, is it I?” The tension continues to build throughout the drama to Judas’ betrayal of Jesus.
The part of Jesus this year is played by Seth Ba-zacas, a 2005 graduate of
Ocean City High School (where he played the role of Tony in West Side Story). Bazacas has returned to Ocean City to become the

Church is the director. The public is invited to
experience an evening of drama, music, and worship in the intimacy of the Up-per Room as Jesus shares his last meal with His dis-ciples, followed by a unique communion service.

WEST CAPE MAY - On March 13 at 7 p.m., enter the mysterious world of "Rip Van Winkle" at the West Cape May Elementary School, 301 Moore St., performed by 17 students under the direction of East Lynne Theater Company's artistic director, Gayle Stahlhuth. The script is based on the short story classic about a man who encounters the ghosts of Captain Henry Hudson and his crew in the hills of Sleepy Hollow, written by Washington Irving over one-hundred years ago. One of ELTC's upcoming summer main stage produc-tions is the world premiere of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" adapted by James Rana from another Irving tale.
This in-school theater residency begins on March 4, with a few acting exer-cises, reading the script, and everyone writing down what three parts they would like to play. The next day, based on the above infor-mation, Stahlhuth assigns roles and rehearsals began. There are meetings with parents and members of the PTA to discuss props and costumes, and with the support of the 5th and 6th grade teacher, Ms. Calabro, students are encouraged to memorize lines and think about their own props and costume needs. There are only seven eighty-minute rehearsals before the show goes up, with lines learned, blocking complete, props in place and costumes done.
This is the sixth year in a row that East Lynne The-ater Company has been able to provide this theater residency for West Cape May Elementary School due to funding from New Jersey Theatre Alliances' (NJTA) "Stages Festival." NJTA is the statewide con-sortium of professional theaters in the Garden State, of which ELTC is a proud member. For an up-to-the-minute schedule of "Stages Festival" events throughout March, which includes ELTC's shows on the road, "Paul Robeson Through His Words and Music," "Adventure of the Norwood Builder," and "Victorian Magic," visit www.stagesfestival.org. To learn more about the Alliance, go to www.njtheatrealliance.org.
Admission to "Rip Van Winkle" is free and open
to the public, but donations of paper products for The Food Closet will be grate-fully accepted.
For reservations and in-formation about this and other ELTC events, con-tact the theater by phone at 609-884-5898, e-mail [email protected], on go to the web site, www.eastlynnetheater.org.
There is still time to sign up for ELTC’s juggling class with James Rana, on March 4 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, 500 Hughes St., where the company is in residence. This is free, too, due to funding from NJTA's "Stages Festival." ELTC’s popular radio-style produc-tion returns to Cape May with "Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Norwood Builder" on March 15 and 16 at 8:00 p.m., before go-
ing on the road. NJTA's "Stages Festival"
is a co-sponsored project of the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the Na-tional Endowment for the Arts. Additional program sponsors are Bank of Amer-ica and The Horizon Foun-dation for NJ. Additional program support has been provided by The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, The Hidden Ponds Founda-tion, The HMS Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, The F. M. Kirby Foundation, Prudential Foundation and Springpoint Senior Living Foundation and The Vic-toria Foundation. Discover Jersey Arts is the “Stages” marketing partner. Visit www.JerseyArts.com for more information about other arts programming happening around the Gar-den State.
