Topic: Sensational Salads (This is part of the HIP series)
Description: Today’s salads are packed with a variety of greens and other
nutritious ingredients to add texture and taste. Salad dressings are also lowering
the fat and heavy ingredients. We will focus on new trends in salads and how they
can add variety to family meals.

Topic: Sous Vide/Smokeless Indoor Grill Deadline to register: June 6
Description: Kitchen appliances are popular gifts! Find out how to maximize use
and save time when preparing family meals. Equipment and food safety will be
covered and some great tasting recipes will be prepared and shared.

Topic: Fruit and Veggie Bugs Deadline to register: June 12
Description: Have a picky eater? This class will encourage your child to eat fruits
and vegetables through a fun hands-on class. This class is designed for ages 4-7 and
limited to 15 participants.

Topic: Food Preservation (Youth) Deadline to register: June 13
Description: This class is geared towards ages 7-16. Participants must be able to
use knives and cook on a stove to participate. Basics of food preservation will be
covered and participants will prepare items to enjoy later.

Topic: Basics of Food Preservation and Fermentation
Description: “That’s how my Grandma did it!” This is a common phrase when it
comes to food preservation. This session will cover the basics of food preservation
as well as introduce fermentation of foods. Fermented foods provide wonderful
benefits to the body. Their popularity is increasing so find how you can preserve
food to improve your health.

Topic: Making Movement Meaningful (This is part of the HIP series)
Description: Putting your body into motion is important to your overall health but
not everyone can run a marathon! Find out how you can incorporate small changes
to your daily routine to tone up your body and improve your overall well-being.

Description: Young or old, communication in a relationship is important. Many
disagreements and misunderstandings occur from poor communication and the
hurt and dysfunction can have lifelong impacts. This one hour program will focus
on ways to communicate with family members and provide ideas on how to main-

Date: Each Tuesday: June 25 to July 30 - Meade County Extension Pavilion Topic: Power of Produce Program (POP) Description: Does your child have what it takes to learn the power of produce? If so, the Meade County Farmers’ Market is the place to be! The Power of Produce program will educate and inspire children ages 4-12 to make healthier choices through fun and fresh food-based activities. After completing the weekly activities, each child can obtain certificates they may use to purchase their own items from a vendor further engaging them with the market. ____________________________________________________________________
