2 Simple Life Insurance

Whilst you have a policy, we’ll pay one of these benefits in the event of a successful claim.

Life Cover - If you die we’ll pay a lump sum. However, we won’t pay if this happens in the first 12 months because of suicide or intentional, self-inflicted injury.

Terminal illness - we’ll pay the full cover amount if you’re diagnosed with a terminal illness and an attending consultant and our Medical officer don’t expect you to live longer than 12 months.

You can use Simple Life Insurance to cover one person (single policy) or two people (joint policy).

We’ll only pay your full cover amount once. If we accept a claim, we’ll pay the cover amount and your policy will end. This is also the case for a joint policy.

This isn’t the kind of policy you can ‘cash in’ - so you don’t get any money if you cancel it.

If you stop paying your premiums, we’ll stop providing cover and premiums will not be refunded.

4 Simple Life Insurance

Hospital benefit – £100 per night up to £3,000

Choose how you’re coveredYou have two choices for how you can be covered, level cover or decreasing cover.

The type of cover you want may depend on who you want to protect and how much you’d like to pay each month.

Could Simple Life Insurance be right for me?Simple Life Insurance is designed to provide protection for a wide range of customers. Your adviser will be able to talk to you about the product’s suitability to your individual circumstances. However, if you answer yes to any of the following questions, you’re not eligible for this product.

1. Are you waiting for any medical investigations, referrals, scans, tests or the results of these?

2. Have you ever had a heart attack, stroke, diabetes, cancer, hepatitis or HIV?

3. In the last ten years, have you had any mental health conditions that have required hospital treatment, or have you attempted suicide or harmed yourself?

4. Do you drink more than 35 units per week (if male) or 28 units per week (if female), or have you received advice to reduce your alcohol consumption?

5. Have you used recreational drugs (other than cannabis) in the last 10 years?

6. Do you have a BMI below 17 or above 39?

You’ll need to be aged between 18-59 to have a Simple Life Insurance policy. The maximum amount of cover available to you is based on how old you are when you first apply for the policy. For joint policies, this will be based on the age of the oldest person.

Choose how you’re coveredYou have two choices for how you can be covered, level cover or decreasing cover.

The type of cover you want may depend on who you want to protect and how much you’d like to pay each month.

1. Level coverWe’ll pay a lump sum that stays the same size whilst you have the policy.

This lump sum could help to maintain the standards of living for your loved ones. It could also be used to help pay off an interest-only mortgage, or go towards general living costs and monthly outgoings.

2. Decreasing coverThe size of the lump sum we’ll pay you goes down every month at a rate set when you apply for your policy.

You might want to choose this type of cover to help your loved ones pay off a repayment mortgage or long-term loan.

Expert guidance can be provided at no extra cost to help to register a death.

Advanced Funeral PaymentsDealing with the loss of a loved can be a stressful time; to make things easier, we can pay the funds from a death claim straight to the funeral director.

Bereavement GuideWe aim to make the practical side of a bereavement process as straightforward as we can. We have a helpful guide designed to lead through the practicalities of registering a death and what to do next. This helps to make sure everything is dealt with properly and in accordance with the law.

Grief Counselling For ChildrenWe’ve teamed up with Grief Encounter to offer bereavement support specifically for children, family members and anyone impacted by bereavement.

How can I make a claim?If you need to make a claim, we’ll do all we can to reduce stress and anxiety at what is an incredibly difficult time. From help with filling out the paperwork to answering questions about funeral payments, we’ll be there for you and your family when you need us most.

0800 158 3467 (or on +44 1603 202 500 if outside of the UK). Our claims line is open Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 8:00am to 2:00pm. Calls may be monitored and will be recorded.
