The Silverthin Bearing Group started manufacturing thin section bearings in April 2001. To the best of our knowledge, we are the only new ball bearing manufacturer to start production in the USA for a number of years.

As with all new companies the task of starting a manufacturing company from the ground up has had its challenges, but the combined efforts of both our Silverthin production and corporate personnel have produced successful and rewarding results.

Silverthin supplies bearings to a diversified group of commercial, aviation, distribution and military customers. We supply bearings with the following characteristics:

Our sales and customer support are the best in the industry and our manufacturing lead time dates are responsive and on time.

Engineering, quality, and manufacturing scheduling are tightly controlled by our in house staff who works with our manufacturing partners to ensure quality and traceability of our bearings. We use suppliers that we considered the best at their specialty whether it is steel tubing, forgings, turning, heat treating, or grinding.

Who we are

Our corporate philosophy when starting Silverthin Bearing was to invest in engineering, people, processes, controls, and inventory as opposed to making capital investments in major machinery and the facilities to house them. The fact is we continue to lose our manufacturing capability and talent here in the United States as more products and jobs are being moved offshore. As a result of this loss we have found skilled and eager specialty companies who are happy to be a part of our team to manufacture a quality product in the United States.

Our manufacturing system has allowed us to expand our production capacity without a dramatic increase in manufacturing lead times. This allows us to support our customers when our competition is increasing their manufacturing lead times.

Our philosophy has proven true and correct as we currently supply competitively priced high quality bearings to our customer’s schedules on time. We support our customer’s needs with a large inventory of finished components that can be assembled to their specific requirements quickly in our Rancho Cucamonga plant.

U.S. Government, SAR’s packagesSource Approval Request (SAR’s) is required on all government bids. It is

becoming more stringent in order to satisfy certain government activities.

These Approval Requests must include: A detailed manufacturing plan regarding each type of material used to produce the bearing. Formal comparative analysis of the differences/similarities between the equivalent part and the part for which approval is being requested on

- Complete set of drawings- Inspection, Assembly and Shipping procedures- Copy of inspection method sheets used during assembly
