The special feature of this elastic layer is its sound deadening properties, thus reducing noise development and improving room acoustics and walking comfort. Impact soundEvery step causes noise and vibrations, which are transmitted via building components such as the floor. Noise is especially annoying if the listener has no control over the source, either because it comes from another part of the building or is the result of the normal use of a room. In addition to building design measures, MasterTop 1327 is the ideal solution for this problem by reducing vertical noise transmission by 15 –18 dB. That means that you will hear only half the noise you heard before.

Footfall noiseDepending on footwear and the type of floor, people walking across a floor may also make noise. Our special formulation of the elastic layer helps drastically reduce airborne sound, thus significantly improving room acoustics.

MasterTop 1327: pleasing to the ear and the eye. High walking comfort, reduced noise creation and

transmission, aesthetically pleasing colors and designs create a relaxing atmosphere. These floors

How to apply – in four easy steps:

PrimingA non-solvented MasterTop primer is applied to create a monolithic bond to the substrate.

Body CoatA MasterTop coating, which is also elastic, is applied once the elastic layer has cured. This layer determines the mechanical properties of the entire system and in combination with the elastic layer ensures the high walking comfort and sound-deadening properties.

Elastic LayerThe MasterTop elastic layer is poured on and distributed. Thanks to its good flowing properties, the elastic layer is easy to apply and adapts to rooms of any shape.

Top CoatFinally, a top coat is applied. This optimizes the surface characteristics of the floor, makes for an attractive appearance and ensures good cleaning properties.

Like all fl oor coatings from BASF, the new MasterTop 1327 fl ooring system is applied in liquid form – including the elastic sound-deadening layer. A small revolution: this product combines convenience, comfort and noise reduction all in one.

MasterTop 1327 is suitable both for new buildings and for refurbishment work in existing buildings. Since the product is applied as a liquid, even rooms with unusual shapes can now quickly and easily receive an attractive seamless fl oor covering. The successful conversion of a historic factory building into a modern medical and fitness centre underscores the effectiveness of a modern utilization plan and appropriate architectural design – with MasterTop 1327.

Constructed in 1930, the building had been used by Salamander for shoe production for more than 60 years. Following a few years as an office building, it has housed a medical and fitness centre since the end of 2010. Physical well-being and vitality are becoming in-creasingly important for people of all ages.

It goes almost without saying that one of the main objectives was to create a welcoming atmosphere. Medical facilities in a “soft living” ambience are the result. The seamless, bright floor design underlines this approach. The project owner, who is also managing director of the construction company responsible, selected MasterTop 1327 as the flooring system. Its properties make it the ideal floor covering for health facilities. The application properties were also convincing and contributed to the smooth and trouble-free completion of the project in line with the schedule. Where once shoes were produced, doctors and fitness trainers now help people back onto their feet, in rooms with considerable walking comfort.
