One of the oldest universities in China established in 1896.

Sichuan University (SCU) is one of the national key universities directly under the state Ministry of Education in China, “985” Project and “211” Project university and one of the Top 10 Chinese universities. The university went through two mergers:

In 1994, merged with Chengdu University of Science and Technology;

In 2000, merged with West China University of Medical Sciences.
