TechFactor Challenge 2015
Tech Factor Challenge is a competition to spur innovation through the creative application of technology to solve real world problems. This year, the challenge is to design and build a robotic waiter prototype, and deploy it in an actual restaurant environment to better suit the needs of the Food & Beverage operators. The Challenge is organised by ST Electronics in partnership with SPRING Singapore. SIAA is a supporting organization to this event. The Grand Prize Winner and 1st Runner-up are Team OBYS & Team WaiterBot respectively. Both teams showcase their innovation at Media Exploit 2015 and Asian Robotics Week 2015 as part of SIAA’s contribution to the competition.
IPv6 Share and Learn 2015: Leading the IoT Products through New Management Framework
SIAA President, Mr Oliver Tian spoke at the Annual IPv6 Share and Learn 2015 on 2 Oct organized by IPv6 Singapore Forum on 2 Oct 2015. With the Internet of Things (IoT) bring
revolutionary change to society, economy, and technology, it is time to realise that we are in the midst of a new Business and Technology Transformation. Developing IoT products have change in the methodology of the way product design and development is being done. A quality continuing professional development is important for implementing strategies to capitalize on the new process. Oliver spoke on “The Intelligence in IoT – From Automation to Analytics”
Media Exploits 2015 - Infocomm Media Technology Frontiers
The region's largest Infocomm Media Technology commercialisation showcase and networking event was back in its 5th year, on 4 & 5 Nov, featuring over 60 booths of technologies and solutions. This year SIAA is honoured to organize 2 tracks at Media Exploit on IoT & Robotics. Some of our members showcase their solutions and products at the booth space featuring intelligent signage, service robots and mobile trail platform. It was attended by 1150 representatives of technology companies, investors and research organizations.
Asian Robotics Week 2015 Exhibition & Symposium
The inaugural Asian Robotics Week 2015, organized by SIAA and Fireworks Trade Media Group took place successfully on 12 & 13 Nov. There were 26 local & international exhibitors offering solutions applicable in the Medical, Logistics, Retail and F&B industries. It was a key platform dedicated to robotics for industry stakeholders in Singapore & in the region showcasing robotics solutions in both industrial and service sectors. The event was graced by Secretary-General of NTUC, Mr Chan Chun Sing. One event highlight is the 1-day symposium featuring several renowned international industry experts which focused on connecting the idea of how professional service robots can help businesses achieve greater excellence through commercial adoption and innovation. During the 2 days, a total of 1600 attendees visited & attended the exhibition and symposium. The French-Singapore International Day 2015 was co-located alongside Asian Robotics Week.
SME Outreach Seminar – IoT for Digital Manufacturing
In this 6th part series of SME Outreach Seminar with I2R, the theme was: IoT for Digital
Manufacturing. We had speakers from Keyence, Omron and I2R covering topics on the value
of IoT in the era of Digital Manufacturing in factory automation and remote assistance for
troubleshooting using IoT technologies. There was also a live demo on a solution used for
maintenance support and knowledge transfer on mobile devices. SIAA members Anewtech,
Autodesk, Epicor Software, Keyence and Omron, took up display space to showcase their
products & solutions. There were estimated nearly 50 attendees.
