Pension and Benefits Mr. Hatch's pension and benefit practice covers: The establishment of new pension and benefit plans Negotiation of agreements with service providers such as investment managers, custodians, actuaries, benefit consultants, carriers and underwriters Advising on trustee duties and obligations as well as plan governance and administration Advising on plan mergers, amalgamations, reorganizations and wind-ups Facilitating the resolution of pension and benefit disputes between labour and management. Mr. Hatch has extensive experience acting for and advising jointly trusteed boards. Mr. Hatch regularly acts as counsel for a number of provincewide public sector pension and benefit plans, as well as a number of multi-employer and single-employer pension plans. Mr. Hatch has also acted as special counsel to government in respect of an initiative to restructure provincewide public sector pension plans as jointly trusteed plans. In addition, Mr. Hatch has acted as special counsel to facilitate the restructuring of the pension plan of a major utility in the province. Mr. Hatch has acted as an independent third party appointee of an industrial inquiry commission to settle the terms of a provincewide benefit plan. Mr. Hatch's pension and benefit practice covers:
