About

ICE Shaping a Digital Worldreturns on 25 September. The flagship event of our digital transformation programme brings industry together to share knowledge and identify the next steps to transforming the way we deliver and manage infrastructure.

“Industry 4.0” is upon us: a world of connectivity, automation and data abundance. We have the opportunity to solve the productivity problem and provide better infrastructure services to society, by making better

decisions based on better data. But to get there, we must collaborate to tackle the big transformational challenges including culture, behaviours, skills, security and business model transformation.

Shaping a Digital World 2018 offers you a valuable opportunity to keep pace with our fast-transforming sector and gain clear, practical takeaways on the challenges you face. Our programme features three streams – productivity, behaviour and value of data, with a range of

engagement formats to ensure you get the most from the day.

Thanks must go to the Digital Transformation Advisory Board who have provided expert guidance to our event programme.

Implications of the Hackitt review – what does this mean for infrastructure?

This panel discussion explores how digital transformation can help meet some of the recommendations from Dame Judith Hackitt’s recent review

■ How can we realise one goldenthread of truthful informationacross project lifecycles?

■ What is the strategy to engagefurther down the supply chain?

■ Do standards inhibit innovativethinking and new ways ofworking?

■ Why information abundancedemands new approaches todesign, delivery and management

■ What a data-centricinfrastructure organisationlooks like in practice

■ Steps needed to shift yourbusiness strategy to harness datavalue

SESSION SNAPSHOTS:

Standardising Design with the Rapid Engineering Model

Led by Highways England and Bryden Wood, this session presents the revolutionary Rapid Engineering Model (REM) which is being deployed on Highways England’s Smart Motorways

■ How the REM, based onquality data, can reducedesign processes from weeksto hours

■ Benefits of standardiseddesign to safety, efficiency andcustomer experience

■ The opportunity to increasedelivery capacity and torefocus human engineeringjudgement
