Villar RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING THE MEMBERS OF THE PHILIPPINE TEAM, WHO HAVE WON IN THEIR RESPECTIVE SPORTS CATEGORIES THUS BRINGING THE COUNTRY’S MEDAL HAUL TO A TOTAL OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY ONE (121), DURING THE 29th SOUTHEAST ASIAN GAMES (SEA GAMES) HELD ON AUGUST 19 TO 30, 2017 AT KUALA LUMPUR. WHEREAS, the Philippine Senate has, on several occasions, paid tribute to outstanding Filipino athletes for their remarkable and inspiring feats, which gained them international recognition, thereby bringing home pride and glory to the country;

WHEREAS, this performance of our Filipino athletes brings pride and honor to the country and serves as an inspiration to the Filipino athletes to strive in the succeeding international sports competition, particularly in the anticipated 2019 SEA Games that will be hosted by the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Senate of the Philippines, to congratulate and commend the following members of the Philippine team, who have brought pride to the country for winning in their respective sports categories, thus bringing the Philippines’ medal haul to a total of one hundred and twenty-one (121) medals, at the recently concluded 29th SEA Games held on August 19 to 30, 2017 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia4:
