Bible Study 7:00 Church Alone You’ve probably seen the movie Home Alone starring McCauley Caulkin. His family is about to go on an international trip for Christmas, but with all the family together making preparations to leave Kevin is a nuisance to everyone. He is banished to the attic to sleep by himself as punishment, but his family forgets about him when they leave for the airport the next morning. As he wakes to discover that he was left all alone, his initial reaction is that of jubilant celebration. He proceeds to do anything he wants without anyone telling him he can’t, and he seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself. However, as time goes by he begins to miss his family. On top of that, he has to try to keep two burglars away from the house who know he’s there all alone. One of the lessons he learned in the movie was how it’s much better to be with your family instead of being all alone. Thanks be to God that we have a church family here at North View, and it’s great to know that we are not alone in our spirituality. Granted we have to tend to our own salvation (Phil. 2:12), but those of us who are saved are part of the family of God, also known as God’s household (Gal. 6:10; Eph. 2:19). We are to serve one another (Gal. 5:19). stimulate one another to love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24), assemble and encourage one another (Heb. 10:25), confess our faults to and pray for one another (Jas. 5:16). What a blessing it is to be a part of such a loving and caring church family here at North View. I hope that as we head into this holiday season you will remember that it’s not happy holidays for everyone. Some people have to spend the holidays alone. Some people are caught up in marital or family problems. Some people are job- less or homeless. Let’s count our many blessings for what we have with our church family. No one should ever feel alone as part of the church. This will depend on if we treat our church family like the Bible says. Brotherly, Jeremy T. Butt

Wanda June Seagraves, mother of Dannie Holmes, is currently in the hospital for

where she was unresponsive for 4 1/2 minutes. She is currently being monitored

for heart issues. It is likely that she will receive a pacemaker.

Premature twin boys Phoenix Carson and Raiden Alexander, great nephews of

when they reach 5 lbs.

Dianna Duvall, daughter of former members Bob and Lola Wheeler, has been di-

agnosed with a brain tumor located on the pituitary and pushing against the op-

tic nerve. She will be seeing a neurosurgeon on January 10.

Eunice Oliver, mother of Kay Rich, has returned home after a trip to the emer-

gency room and a brief stay at the nursing home. She is having difficulty remem-

bering when to take her medication; Kay has assumed this duty. Cards may be

sent to “Miss” Eunice at: 108 Riverside Dr., Columbia, TN 38401.

Allen Wisdom, Paul Wisdom’s grandfather, has been unresponsive this week. He

is presently under hospice care. He became weakened this year following two

surgeries within the first half of the year.

Thank You

“Dear North View Church Family,

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during the loss of my stepfather.

Thank you for the beautiful floral basket from the church as well. I’m also VERY

thankful that he was a member of the Lord’s body.

Keep on praying in faith, Clay Bates

Notes of Thanks

Sweet notes of gratitude have been received from many, addressed to the con-

gregation and Kids for Christ, in regards to the Senior Sheep holiday baskets

and the poinsettias. They are posted in the lobby. Due to their number, we are

unable to print them all in the bulletin.

NHC Christmas Village Project Thank You

Thanks to all who participated in the NHC Christmas Village Project. Hopefully,

we have made this season more joyous for the NHC residents by making it

possible for them to give gifts to those they hold dear. Thank you for your will-

ingness to use your resources to encourage others!

Family Center Donation

Due to added strain on their program during the holiday season, the Family

Center has asked for a simple donation of toilet paper, paper towels, or pasta

and a jar of spaghetti sauce.
