The east coast is known for the tides to go out for quite a distance and leave most of the day will small tidal pools, as the north and west coast of the island are less affected and allows more time for swimming in the ocean. Things to do while in Zanzibar: Stone Town Tour – it has the history of Sultans, Princesses and slaves written all over it. The architecture along the coast mainly consists of styles that originate from Arabia and Asia

Pange Sandbank – this sandbank is situated 20 minutes from Stone Town and it is ideal for activities such as snorkeling as there is a vast range of coral fish and tropical fish Swim with Dolphins – Kizimkazi is situated in the North, about an hour from Stone Town, in these waters there is a 90% change that you will see both bottlenose dolphins and humpback dolphins Local Cooking Class – they say there is no better way to get to know a culture than learning the details of their cooking methods

Heath Requirements: When traveling to Zanzibar, you need to take precaution for malaria and yellow fever in order to ensure your safety. Visa Information: When traveling on a South African passport, you don’t have to apply for a Tanzanian visa. Up and coming in September: As of the 21st of September Mango Airlines has direct flights from Johannesburg. Departing dates are on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Or other options are with South African Airways via Dar es Salaam that will take longer to get to your final destination.
