*HYMN OF PRAISE, 339 “Come, Sinners, to the Gospel Feast” HURSLEY
*THE APOSTLES CREED, 881
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of theVirgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried, the third day he rosefrom the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the FatherAlmighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, theforgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYEROur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be doneon earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, aswe forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us fromevil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

GIVING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS
*DOXOLOGY, 95 “Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow” OLD 100TH
BLESSING OF THE TITHES AND OFFERINGS
HOLY COMMUNION(Wine and grape juice are used for communion. The first chalice is grape juice
and the second chalice is wine. Gluten free bread is available in the center.)
CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE (MICHAEL J. O'DONNELL, U.S.A., 20TH CENT.)We are reluctant, O Author of Love,
to set aside our hurt, our anger, our disappointment.Heal us with your tender touch,
that we might be cleansed of all unclean thoughts, all schemes of revenge, all hope of vindictive retribution.
Open our eyes to the power of love, shown to us in the unselfish sacrificeof your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
All pray in silence.Hear the good news:Christ died for us while we were yet sinners,
that proves God’s love toward us.In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!Glory to God. Amen.
GREAT THANKSGIVINGThe Lord be with you.And also with you.Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.It is right to give our thanks and praise.Honor and glory be to you, Lord God, king of the ages,
because you created the world and called a people;yet when your people became skilled in doing evil
and forgot how to do good, you displayed the utmost patience,
and your grace overflowed with love. When your sheep wandered away from their sheepfold,
you searched high and low,and in Jesus you came among your people
to bring them home to you.Just so, when we wander away,
you come to us in the crucified and risen Jesusand place us on your shoulders and rejoice to bring us home.
And so we enter that joy in the presence of angels and archangelsand all the company of heaven,
singing the hymn of your unending praise.Holy, holy, holy Lord God of power and might,Heaven and earth are full of your glory.Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna in the highest.
God of grace, in Christ you came into the worldto save sinners, to welcome them, and to eat with them.
You spread a table in our sight and invite us to join you in glory. Now send down your Holy Spirit,
that your people who have strayed like lost sheepmay dwell in the paths of righteousness,
and that these gifts of bread wine may be for usthe body and blood of your Son Jesus Christ;
who, at supper with his disciples, took bread, gave you thanks, broke the bread, and gave it to them, saying,
“Take, eat: this is my body which is given for you;do this in remembrance of me.”
After supper he took the cup.Again he gave you thanks, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
“Drink this, all of you: this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”Great is the mystery of faith.Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.Searching and yearning God,
in Christ you enter the wildernessand sweep the dark corners of our world
because you hate nothing you have madeand long to draw us back to your heart.
Find those who are lost; reach any who have strayed;pursue all who seem determined to wander
further and further from your fold.Heal your earth: where the fruitful land is waste and void,
where the mountains are quaking, and the birds of the air have fled,
bring hope, transformation, and deliverance.Immortal, invisible Father,
redeem your creation in the power of your Spirit, and draw all things through the free gift of your Son
into the glory of your presence. Amen.
*HYMN OF COMMITMENT, 334 (Acolyte) “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” SWEET, SWEET SPIRIT (Sing Twice)

Enneagram Small Group StudyEver heard of the Enneagram? I hadn't until a year and half ago or so. It is defined as “a powerful tool for personaland collective transformation. Stemming for the Greek words ennea (nine) and grammos (a written symbol) thenine-pointed symbol represents nine distinct strategies for relating to the self, others and the world.” It's historyis Christian based all the way back to the 4th century, but has recently ha a surge in publicity in business and spiritualcontext. I will be teaching a six week small group on how to use the Enneagram to share God's love. The studywill start Wednesday, September 18 in the Education Building, Youth Rooms at 6:30 PM. I hope you or someoneyou know can join us to learn this fascinating, ancient personality typing that is helping many. Signup [email protected] or by contacting the Church Office. A signup sheet is also located in the narthex. The studyis open to anyone, including youth. Contact Bonnie Riley if you have any questions.
