THE LAST GOODBYE

Mao was already affected by his other 2 heats attacks, the one he just suffered in September 2nd was the one that affected him the most; it affected the larger area of his heart, causing him serious cardiac problems, since that day Mao was debating between death and

life. By September 5th Mao’s condition was critical but stable, is was not until September 7th when Mao started having serious problems, as we

remembered, that day Jiang Qing delivered the news, Mao fall asleep and Jiang Qing insisted rubbing his back and moving his limbs, and she also sprinkled some powder in his body, some doctors say it was terrible doing that because it can affect his lungs, but she steel did it.Yesterday, September 9th when we received the call from Jiang Qing telling us Mao Tse Tung was death, she told us that early morning she ordered the medical staff to change Mao’s sleeping position, claiming that he had been lying too long on his left side. With tears in her eyes she told us that Mao’s eyes opened for a second, then his face started turning blue, she left the room and let in charge the medical staff but it was too late, Mao barely revived then he died.

CHINAS UNCERTAIN FUTUREChina's population is

doubtful and uncertain, and they wonder who will lead them in the next months and years to come. The mourning after the dead of Mao Tse-tung began yesterday when the announcement was issued by the Communist Central Party Committee. The stablished and officially announced period of mourning will continue until September 18, when a massive memorial rally will take place in Tien An Men square in the center of Peking. The memorial will be transmited on television, just because Chinas governmental comitee doesn’t want any foreigner visit during the mourning, this as a respectful detail on Mao´s memory.Soon after the announcement was made flags were lowered to half-staff.

All allong this lapse of time, China divided itself by a dark and bitter struggle for power which promised to go deeper and become more decisive because of the empty space left by Mao, the man who took Communists to victory and dominated the country and its structure for 27 years while oponents who would be successors fell by the wayside.

What will go on with China, its population, and interests? No one knows it yet but will keep in touch, and will publish it for you.

On September 10th of 1976 a mid-air collision occurred on an important Yugoslavian city. Two commercial airplanes crashed on the sky of Zagreb. The first one was a British Airways Flight 476 going from London Heathrow International airport to Istanbul and the other one was an Index-Adria Aviopromet Flight 550 going from Yugoslavia to West Germany. This happened ay 11:15 am local time. A total of 176 deaths was the cost of this accident that was considered the world’s deadliest mid-air collision and the only British Airways fatal accident. The proper investigations were made after the event and it was finally concluded that the accident was caused by problems with communication between both aircrafts and the control tower of Zagreb International Airport.

The recordings of the radio contact of the pilots were recuperated and listened by the proper authorities. A man of the control tower named Tasic was founded guilty after the trail because he ignored many messages from both aircrafts and it was thought that for that reason the accident happened, so Tasic was sentenced to seven years in prison but he was liberated with some help after two years of being in prison by the airline incorporation he was working for. Collisions of this magnitude are very rare, especially mid-air collisions. Time later it was proved that the information indicating the altitude of both aircrafts was wrong so inevitably they crashed causing many innocent lives that will be remembered for a long time

Hua Guofeng

In September 1976, after Mao Zedong´s death, the People's Republic of China didn’t had a certain authority. The Gang of Four was dismantled, but Hua Guofeng continued persisting with the ideas of Mao. After this period Deng Xiaoping arrived to reform the Chinese economy and government. Deng, however, was conservative with regard to wide-ranging political reform. The end of the Gang of Four caused nationwide celebrations. The Gang of Four symbolized everything that went wrong during the ten years of chaos of the Cultural Revolution, would mark the beginning of a new era. Hua Guofeng, however, continue the policies set during the Cultural Revolution, and coined this maintenance the Two Whatevers, setting the standard that "whatever policies Chairman Mao set, we will continue to uphold; whatever orders Chairman Mao gave, we will continue to follow." Hua's reliance

on Maoist orthodoxy led him to continue a cult of personality surrounding his own image alongside Mao's, equating his presence to that of Mao, but pinpointing the focus at a nominally separate era. To provide for distinct identity, Hua attempted his own change of the Chinese written language by further simplifying characters. A small number of these Hua-era simplifications continue to be in use informally, as there was no formal sanction of their legitimacy after Hua left office. In early 1977, the National Anthem was changed to reflect pure communist ideology rather than revolutionary drive, inserting lyrics exclusively dealing with Mao Zedong Thought and building an ideal socialist nation, as opposed to the wartime patriotism reflected by the original lyrics.
