Parts Pricing System
Flexible and Comprehensive Pricing Solution
FDC Solutions’ Parts Pricing
System is designed to ensure
your dealership has control over
the pricing your customers are
paying and provides a flexible,
customizable tool to implement
your dealership’s Parts Pricing
strategy. Through the use of
factors, users can establish mul-
tiple uplifts and discounts to
work in unison yet still result in
accurate customer specific pric-
ing. The module works in con-
junction with existing DBS/DBSi
sell rates and Caterpillar Parts
Marketing programs, allowing
dealers to build on established
policies. The system is totally
parameter driven eliminating
costly programming changes
and IT involvement when pricing
strategies change. The Parts
analyst now has the ability to
monitor and maintain parts pric-
ing competitiveness and con-
sumer demand in the market-
place. Imagine having a flexible and intuitive user interface to handle all of your pricing strategies and unique customer situations—Priceless!
Features include: Multiple base price allowing
the choice between Dealer Net, Consumer List, or Landed Cost
Contract pricing ensures price matching on your cus-tomer’s PO system

Warranty Claim Web Service Interface
The Warranty Claim Web Service re-
places the current methods of submitting
claims through LU6.2, which will be re-
tired on January 31, 2014. The new in-
terface enables improved claim valida-
tion from CAT with detailed error mes-
saging. It also allows for future improve-
ments including immediate feedback
upon submission if a claim has been
settled or sent for review, reducing the
need to wait on nightly batches for claim
feedback.
We are in the process of working with
FDC Supported ERP Dealers to test and
schedule installation.
Dealers that do not implement the War-
ranty Claim Web Service interface will
be required to manually submit claims
using Claimsi.
PartStore Web Service 2.0
PartStore dealers who use DBS and
want to use the four new features in
PartStore must install DBS enhance-
ments and have the Caterpillar Part-
Store development team turn on Web
Services Version 2.0 simultaneously.
There are several advantages for the
dealer to upgrade to PartStore Web Ser-
vice 2.0. including (but not limited to) the
ability to use Smart Sourcing, Quotes,
Promo Code, Instant Access, OTIF, and
Freight in PartStore.
FDC is contacting their ERP supported
dealers that have not yet installed the
Web service to schedule implementa-
tion.
CatUsed Equipment
CatUsed.cat.com enables dealerships to
list used equipment for sale through the
Internet. Dealers that use the CatUsed
MidTier interface are required to imple-
ment a Web services interface. FDC
Support is contacting their ERP support-
ed dealers to schedule rollout if they
have not yet implemented the Web ser-
vice.

For DBS System Users
Document Inquiry
When inquiring on a document, using the function, DSPPCDOC, if you enter a “?” at the end of the root document number, the screen will display the document status of ALL the documents (root, A, B, etc). Next, you can select the document that you need to review and press enter. By following this tip, you do not have to key in each document separately, only to review its status. In case you are won-dering, yes, you still have to key in each document separately to re-view the parts and shipping information.
