Menu includes Pancakes, Sausage, Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea, only $6.00 pp. ! 19 12:00 Noon 4th Degree Executive Board Meeting 1:00 PM 4th Degree Business Meeting 23 5:00 PM 3rd Degree Italian Dinner. This should be a great event. The menu consists of All you can eat Spaghetti and Meatballs, Salad, Garlic Bread, Coffee, Tea, Ice Cream. Cost is $10.00 PP. Tables of eight are available. CHAPLAIN’S MESSAGE

Dear Brother Knights,

Our Holy Father Pope Francis canonized Mother Teresa of Calcutta on September 4th. Saint Teresa of Calcutta is a font of inspiration for the Christian life. For your reflection, here is the “Humility List” she composed: !

1. Speak as little as possible about yourself. 2. Keep busy with your own affairs and not those of others. 3. Avoid curiosity. 4. Do not interfere in the affairs of others. 5. Accept small irritations with good humor. 6. Do not dwell on the faults of others. 7. Accept censures even if unmerited. 8. Give in to the will of others. 9. Accept insults and injuries. 10. Accept contempt, being forgotten and disregarded. 11. Be courteous and delicate even when provoked by someone. 12. Do not seek to be admired and loved. 13. Breakfast is on your own, but take advantage of this time to spend with your Brother Knights and wives. !October is the one Month of the year that our Council has taken on delivering “Meals on Wheels” A very important project for the POP and SSC Community. Contact Donald “Corky” Grzankowski to volunteer. !It is also Oktoberfest time on October 20th. Like last year it will be an “all you can eat” dinner. This was another key money making event. We need volunteers to help to make this a great and fun time again. !We will be hosting a 1st Degree before our regular business meeting on October 11th. We need your help to recruit new members. You know the best way to bring in a new member? Ask! That’s right. So next time you see and eligible Catholic Gentleman, just ask. You many surprise yourself. We will have a short meeting following the 1st Degree with refreshments following. !NATIONAL ELECTION IS ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 8TH. Unfortunately that falls on our regular meeting night. Due to the huge interest in this year election we felt it would be best to move our meeting night to the week later on the 15th. “Remember to Vote” !Blessings to all of you, !Don Mangers !!

Brother Knights, !Thanks to Marc Anderson our Worthy District Deputy for conducting a very beautiful 3rd degree Officer Installation Ceremony and to

all of you for making this a very special night. Thanks also to the Lady’s Auxiliary for putting together a delicious meal following. !With the help of your officers we have put together a very exciting year of events. Many are projects that you have so graciously performed year after year. Some of these Knights need new blood to continue these projects and need to have you step up and volunteer to help. !On Friday September 23rd we will be hosting again this year our successful Italian Dinner. If you remember our Brother Knight and Chef Joe Boa prepared an award winning Spaghetti and Meatballs Dinner with the help of our Ladies Auxiliary and Brother Knights. This was a very good fund maker so we need to get behind pre-selling tickets. We are selling tables of 8 but you can sell them individually too. Let me know how many you need and I will get the tickets to you. Tickets will also be available at our September meeting and to purchase in the Conesa Center, every Tuesday & Thursday beginning Aug. 30th up to Sept. 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. !Faithful Navigator, Tom Bullaro is working with the 3rd degree to celebrate Columbus Day on October 10th. All Knights and their wives are invited to participate at the regular 8:00 a.m.

Insurance Check-Up for 2016

Where did 2015 go? It seems like it was summer yesterday and Thanksgiving was last week.

I hope you and your family had a great finish to 2015. Now, the first half of 2016 has flown by.

!Hopefully, you’ve established a few goals for this year. I’ve learned a great tip regarding resolutions. First, write them down. It’s not too late if you haven’t already done this. Commit your goals to paper and post it someplace you will see it often. Writing down a goal is the first step towards achieving it. It may not make sense at first, but I’m sure you have heard stories of the success this simple task can bring. Whether your goal is to exercise more, give more to charity, read more or watch less television, you’re more likely to accomplish it if you write it down.

Second, resolve to have an expert look at your finances. I recommend that you have a team of experts help you, and I would love to be the first you sit with. Let’s schedule some time to meet together, and I, your professional Knight of Columbus insurance Agent, will provide an “insurance Check-Up” (at no cost!) that will evaluate any gaps in your family’s life insurance protection. Now might be the perfect time to fill those gaps, not later. Keep in mind that unlike many other products, you don’t just need money to obtain life insurance; you also need good health, and no one knows when your health could change.

!We are off to a good start this year. Our books were audited by the Trustees and everything was in order. !Our Lady’s Pantry sends a big Thank You to the 3rd and 4th degree Knights for the dedicated work in the collection of Project Hunger Food and Funds and for their generous donation of $1’000.00 that they had received from Supreme for their collection efforts. !The food collected was approximately 5 tons and money collected from Prince of Peace amounted to $31,662.88 and $12,192.98 from the 4:00 PM Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe. !Thank you for the fantastic results. You did a great job of volunteering and donating. !A special Thank You goes out to Pastor Father Kovanis of Prince of Peace and to Father Gilbarto for their strong support in this very worthy cause. !Keep in mind that the Pancake Breakfast will resume on September 18th from 8:AM – 12:00 Noon.
