ES Seletar won the Best Unit Competition for the second time in a row.

The Best Unit Competition (BUC) is an ongoing annual event, where all AES units stationed throughout the aerodromes and airbases in

Safety is of paramount importance to ensure minimal exposure to hazards, hence existing safety measures are constantly reviewed, and staff members are encouraged to come up with new measures to enhance the safety network at Seletar’s fire station. One example of such an initiative was

Regular fire drills and physical training sessions are conducted to ensure AES Seletar is always operational ready to respond swiftly and skillfully to tackle any aircraft incident. As testament to the rigorous physical training AES Seletar’s firefighters go through, the unit achieved 90% passes and more than 50% of the crew obtaining silver award and above. This allowed AES Seletar to clinch the best in class IPPT award.

The AIPT consists of both theory and practical portions to thoroughly assess the operational and mental capability of AES firefighters. The extra effort put into training and studying by our junior officers paid off, as they helped AES Seletar attain the highest number of silver and gold gradings in AES.

This accolade is given to a Junior Officer who obtained the highest overall score for the AIPT (Annual Individual Proficiency Test), consisting of both theory and practical portions.

Congratulations to Fire Staff Sergeant Khairol Osmera for winning this distinguished award.

Safety Blitz

To further heighten awareness among the Seletar community on the importance of airside safety, a targeted safety blitz was introduced. Instead of the run-of-the-mill safety inspections, a theme “Runway Safety” was introduced to the safety inspection held in July 2018. This enhanced approach allows the focus on a particular topic and to inculcate the community on the importance of the specific safety requirements.
