How to Add a Property/Unit

• You will have a choice of adding a new property that is not currently registered or to add a unit to a property that is already registered. For Example, a property has 2 units and one has been registered but the other needed some construction work and was completed the following year. Use the Existing property to add the unit.

• Select the circle of which type of addition you are making them select the “ADD PROPERTY” Button to the bottom right of the “Property Details” section.

How to Add a Property

• You will have a choice of adding your property using the Property Identification Number or Property Address. The Property Identification Number produces better results especially if your property has multiple units such as; a condo.

• You must know the county code and your tax account number. You may find this on your tax bill or by going to the State of Maryland Tax and Assessments Real Property page: http://sdat.resiusa.org/RealProperty/Pages/default.aspx

• You may also select Property Address and enter your property’s address. It is IMPORTANT that you use the SEARCH BUTTON before the SUBMIT Button. Please verify the proper information is displayed before Submitting.

Click in the circle to the left of the Property.

• Once selected press the Add a Unit Button in the lower right hand side of the Unit Details section

• Enter the unit Identification. If it is a Single Family Property enter SFP.

• Enter the required information. If the unit is Vacant and you plan on renting it as soon as possible use the following date 01/01/1900. ( If the property is not to be occupied before January 1st you may wait until January 1st to register or you will need to Renew this property and pay the additional fee by 12/31/XX XX = the current year.

• Repeat the process for property with more than one unit.

• Click NEXT in the Lower Right hand corner when all units have been entered.

Affirmation Page

• Affirm your request by clicking the small square to AGREE and type your First and Last name in the corresponding box then Press NEXT.

• Follow the steps to pay online.

• Once complete, wait for your receipt do not close the browser window until after you have printed or saved your PDF receipt.
