Dear God

Thank you that you love us and give us second chances. Sorry for the timeswe do and say things that are wrong. Please help us to follow your way.

Amen

Response

Both Jonah and the Ninevites needed to change and ‘do things differently'. TheNinevites needed to stop doing bad things and follow God's ways. Jonahneeded to obey God rather than disobey Him!

Think of something that you need to ‘do differently'. This might be somethingyou need to stop doing (being unkind to sibling) or start doing (obeyingparents, helping others).

Draw a picture of yourself doing the thing you would like to ‘do differently'.

Stick your picture up somewhere you will see it at home and ask God to helpyou do things differently. Remember we can talk to God if we are finding ithard to change and He will help us and give us a second chance if we mess up

But know Jonah was sinking in the sea! God wanted to give Jonah a second chance,so he sent a big fish to catch Jonah and the fish swallowed him!

Normally, being eaten by a big fish would be bad. But God protected Jonah. Insidethe belly of the fish, Jonah prayed. He told God he was sorry for disobeying. Heasked for a second chance to do what God wanted.

And phlooey! The fish burped Jonah up on the beach! Jonah stood up, wiped himselfoff, and set off to…can you guess where?

Yep Nineveh. Just like God had wanted all along. God gave Jonah a second chanceand he gives us second chances too!
