Inteligencia Competitiva

Comprehensive measures for reducing transport emissions were absent from the 2015 Paris Agreement yetwithout radical transformations in mobility systems and travel behaviour, transport emissions will continue togrow rapidly. This study investigated perceptions of travel in the year 2050 to see whether expectations offuture travel align with lower carbon mobility systems. Data were collected through an international, onlinesurvey in 2016, targeting young adults with high levels of climate change concern.

Decreasing prices of photovoltaics (PV) and Lithium-ion batteries arecreating a significant momentum for off-grid Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs).In literature, most researchers have focused on grid-connected ZEBs builton site. This literature review is written with factory-made off-grid ZEBs inmind. High investment costs, poor construction quality and problems toachieve ZEB in real operation are three challenges that ZEB buildingscurrently face.

Electric vehicles are one promising technology towards an improved sustainable transportation sector, especially when charged with electricity from renewable energy sources. However, the fluctuating generation ofrenewable energy resources, as well as the changing driving patterns of electric vehicles, have the offset of anuncertain nature. This paper compares three approaches (heuristic, optimization, and stochastic programming)to schedule the charging process of three different electric vehicles fleets (commuters, opportunity, andcommercial fleets) at a common charging infrastructure under uncertainty.

Estudio de factibilidad sobre transporte ecológicoPublicada el 13/03/2019
This is a research report on a green transportation project. Green transportation relies on renewable energysources rather than fossil fuels currently used extensively. Sustainability assumes low impacts on environmentand balancing current and future needs. We are investigating introduction of electrical vehicles (EV) and issueswhich influence that EVs are rapidly becoming a mainstay in vehicle product lines.

It is widely recognised that digital technology – and in particular dynamicride sharing systems (DRS) – is leading to fundamental changes tovehicular transport and in particular, offers the prospect of substantiallymore cost effective forms of transport. A much anticipated transformationalwave is that of autonomous vehicles (AVs) which carry the prospect ofconsiderably cheaper and far more convenient individualised transport.

A multi-level multi-objective framework is proposed for identification andmanagement of risk for connected vehicle services in smart cities andcommunities. The framework will better model uncertainty, interdependencies, priorities between objectives and players as single-level multi-objective optimization is insufficient to tackle the complexities ofa smart city ecosystem.

Shared Autonomous Vehicles (SAVs) have gained significant public interest as a possible less expensive, safer and more efficient version of today’s transportation networking companies (TNCs) and taxis. One way toexpand on the possible benefits of an SAV fleet is through electric vehicles (EVs), which tend to be moreenergy efficient, more reliable, quicker, and may reduce system-wide emissions when coupled with renewablepower.

Resiliencia en Sistemas de Transporte Inteligente (ITS)Publicada el 06/02/2019
Many cities are adopting increasingly advanced Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). These systemscombine connectivity, coordination, adaptivity, and automated response for transportation policy optimization, thus increasing “smartness” and efficiency. However, the control and sensing systems of implemented ITS canopen new vulnerabilities, especially to cyber-attacks. Currently vulnerability is managed within the framework oftraditional risk assessment that assesses potential failures of the system in response to specified threats.
