All rights reserved Any unauthorized reproduction of this manual, in any form is prohibited 1.12 Maintenance Policy The company maintenance policy has as it’s foundation, the requirement to ensure that all vessels are maintained in seaworthy and structurally sound condition at all times. An integral part of this policy is to strive to ensure that no vessels faces more than 10 days down time in any twelve month period due to inadequacies in the vessels’ structural or operational condition. Also integral to this policy is the commitment to ensure compliance with all existing and forthcoming international regulations. To this end, the company shall ensure that:- Procedures are put in place for regular inspection of the vessels (every four to six months) by the superintendents or other company representatives so as to ensure continuous assessment of the condition of the vessels. Vessels develop (with the assistance of the company) and follow rigorous inspection and maintenance routines of all hull structures and machinery and other equipment on the ship with a view to maintaining the vessel in sound structural and operational condition. In this regard, particular attention is paid to bulk heads, ballast tanks, cargo tanks and their openings and hatch covers Regular close up inspections of the vessel’s structure are undertaken by classification societies with a view to regularly verify the integrity of the vessel’s structural soundness. Steel renewals are carried out in order to maintain the vessel’s structure so as to promote safety of the vessel and prevention of marine pollution. The hull structure, machinery and equipment is inspected and maintained in accordance with systematic, planned maintenance system so as to ensure the continuous efficiency of the vessels’ performance. That all engine room machinery and equipment is maintained in a manner that permits the bare minimum emission of noxious, gaseous material into the atmosphere. All vessels are maintained at all times in a corrosion free state so as to ensure their structurally sound condition. All vessels in the fleet are dry docked at regular intervals in accordance with class requirements. All vessels follow a planned maintenance System and carry out maintenance in accordance with schedules prescribed therein.
