PREPARATON• I sprayed the surface with a coat of Americana Sealer/

Finisher. Let Dry.• Then I applied a coat of gesso.• Base the sign with Lamp Black.• Add the dots to the edge with Peacock Teal and Buttermilk.• Transfer the design on and base with gesso or white paint.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONSLeaves• Base with Hauser Medium Green +

Forest Green + Evergreen 3:1:1• Highlight fl oat with Citron Green.• Add the veins with Citron green

and fl oat the edge with Periwinkle for the refl ected light.

Brushes (from left to right)• First brush base with Buttermilk

and shade with Periwinkle, Paint bristle with Periwinkle and add lines of Buttermilk over this.

• Second base with Peacock Teal highlight with Bahama Blue and shade with Ultra Blue Deep, base bristles with Burnt Umber and paint lines over this with Burlap.

• Third brush base with Burnt Orange and highlight with Bright Orange and shade with Lamp Black. Paint bristles with Burnt Sienna and add lines over this with Bright Orange.

Flowers• Paint the pink roses with a base of Baby Pink.• Apply a coat of blending medium to one petal at a time and apply Royal Fuchsia to

about 3/4" of the area then with a mop brush soften and blend this into the base color.• Add a highlight on the edges with Buttermilk.• Paint the centers with Lamp Black and using an old scruff y bristle brush, tap

Persimmon on top of this and then add some small dots of Buttermilk.

Ferrules• Paint all the ferules the same: Base with Zinc, shade

fl oat with Lamp Black and highlight with Buttermilk. All the lines are Lamp Black.

• Lastly add a refl ected light on the right side of the brush using Periwinkle and a Script Liner.

Cat Eyes• Base the eyes with Peacock Teal, add some shadow

to the top of each eye using Ultra Blue Deep.• Add a dot of Titanium White for a highlight and

directly across from it add some Bahama Blue. Add a few lines of this color around the eye.

Nose• Paint the nose with Coral Blush, add highlights with

Titanium White and add a light line of Black down the center.

• Add very thin lines on each side of the nose with Periwinkle. This is a black cat, that is why you won’t see much detail.

LETTERINGPaint the Lettering using the Uni Pen.

FINISHINGApply coat of varnish
