PREPARATIONBasecoat the jar area Light Mocha. Repeat as needed. Using your stencils, stamps, etc., add a few designs using Warm White. Allow to dry and then add some more designs using Milk Chocolate. It doesn’t mat-ter what you use for designs. We just like for the background to have some interest. Spatter lightly with Milk Chocolate. Allow to dry and trace just the scooter design on for now.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONSScooterUsing a mix of Boysenberry Pink plus a small amount of Santa Red, basecoat the scooter. To add highlights, pick up this basic color, side load your brush in Cot-ton Candy. Blend back and forth on your palette, and add highlights to the scooter. If you need more con-trast, add more Cotton Candy. In some of the lightest areas, you can use just Cotton Candy and blend it into the background of that area. Shade with Deep Burgundy. Shade with Cranberry Wine in the deepest areas. The head light on top is painted using the same colors. The chrome gray trim is basecoated Slate Grey, highlighted Grey Sky. Add a tiny Warm White highlight in the center of the trim. The light is Warm White, shaded with just a touch on the left side us-ing Grey Sky. The Grey on the handle is painted with these colors. The triangle control on the handle is Slate Grey. The line work connecting it to the scooter is Soft Black.

SeatBasecoat the scooter seat Slate Grey. Shade Soft Black. Float Salem Blue as a tint across a section of the top area.

TiresBasecoat Lamp Black. Sideload a brush in Salem Blue and fl oat some highlights in various places around the tire.

Wheels & BackgroundThe pattern will show that I put nuts or bolts on them. I chose to paint them solid Santa Red. Float Cranberry Wine next to the tire area to shade. High-

light with the Boysenberry-Cotton Candy mix. The center is Lamp Black, highlighting Salem Blue. The fl aps behind the wheels are basecoated Grey Storm, highlighted Slate Grey.

At this stage of the painting, use your Wash Glaze brush and fl oat Milk Chocolate (thin) around the

scooter. Leave some heavier wash behind the rose de-sign. Float stronger color under the tires. Allow to dry. Repeat if you feel you need more contrast. It’s better to do this in thin washes rather than a heavy wash. You can always add paint easier than taking it away. Float stronger color under the tires. Allow to dry and add your rose design.

Pink RoseBasecoat with a mix of Cotton Candy plus a small amount of Boysenberry Pink. Float the throat and lower ball area Boy-senberry Pink. Float or wisp Pink Chif-fon across the rose following its curve. Repeat if needed. Lightly wisp across this same highlight area with Warm White. The center dots are Peaches n’ Cream. Float shading again on the lower area of the rose if you lost it when highlighting.

Purple RoseBasecoat Frosted Plum. Float Mulberry in the throat and lower ball area. High-light by wisping a mix of Frosted Plum plus Warm White. Add stronger high-light with just Warm White. You can add Warm White liner strokes if needed. Add shading back in on the lower area of the rose if needed. The center strokes are Peaches n’ Cream. Float a tint of Salem Blue on the lower area.

Vines and LeavesThe vines are Dark Chocolate. The leaves are Hauser Medium Green. Shade Planta-tion Pine. Add highlights to the tips using Lemonade. Repeat these steps if needed. Float Salem Blue tints on a couple of the edges. I added a few pink leaves randomly. The green stroke leaves are your greens dirty brushed. The little drop down petals are done with your small brush. Load it in Frosted Plum or Mulberry. Tip the corner of your loaded brush in Warm White and set your brush down with the Warm White on top. Just set it down and put a little pressure on the back of your brush leaving Warm White on top for the little petal.

LidBasecoat Slate Grey, working in Salem Blue in the center area while wet. Repeat if needed. Dry brush Grey Sky over the blue tint in the center area. Allow to dry. Float Soft Black in the creases. If you need more highlighting, then dry brush a little Warm White in the center of each crease.
