When you go to the grocery store, please consider picking up some items for the Food Pantry, then drop off the food when you come to Mass.
There is a basket at each church entrance where you may place your donations. Dry goods can be placed in the baskets. Frozen foods should be labeled “For Food Pantry” and put in the freezer in the kitchen’s storage room. Please place a note in the basket letting us know to look for the food in the kitchen freezer.
We need pantry helpers on Tuesdays and Thursdays 12pm to 4pm. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Edythe Kirby @

Did You Know
What is so special about the Mass? It seems pretty much the same week after week.
In the words of the bishops of the Second Vatican Council, echoing their predecessors through two millennia:
“At the Last Supper, on the night he was betrayed, our Savior instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood. He did this in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the Cross throughout the ages until he should come again, and so to entrust to his beloved Spouse, the Church, a memorial of his death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a paschal banquet in which Christ is consumed, the mind filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us” (emphasis added). -- Sacrosanctum Concilium, Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, 47.
Special it is.
What in the world is a Commentator?
You may have noticed the Commentator position being introduced at some of our masses. Father Rahab asked that a Commentator be added to the mass to make it more beautiful and to help plant the seeds of the message to be received.
According to the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, Chapter 3, under Particular Ministries, a commentator, "provides the faithful briefly with explanations and exhortations so as to direct their at-tention to the celebration and ensure that they are better disposed for understanding it. The commenta-tor’s remarks should be thoroughly prepared and notable for their restraint. In performing this function the commentator stands in a suitable place within sight of the faithful, but not at the ambo. (The ambo is where the lectors and Father proclaim the Word.)
If you are interested in being a commentator or have questions/concern do not hesitate to notify the office.

Looking to Grow Spiritually?
Consider purchasing one of the Lighthouse Catholic Media CD’s available in the vestibule of the church for a donation of $3. Make the time pass while Trav-eling on a long trip or listen as you travel back and fourth to work. Either way you will learn something beautiful about our Catholic faith that you can medi-tate on and grow in holiness.
Locked in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Box
Do you need others to pray for you or for your situa-tion, but don't want to share the details? Then write your petition on the small papers on the table next to the gifts at the back of the church and place the paper in Sacred Heart of Jesus box.
Every mass the second lector carries the box forward to the altar, so with all the angels, saints, and our parishioners we can pray and lift your prayer to heaven. Last year the box was so full of prayers we had to pry them out of the box. You only need one paper as the Lord knows the fluidity of the situation.
Never stop praying! Never stop asking for prayers from others!!!
