Same playing field across the EU

Public health, animal health and animal welfare should be considered in a coherent way

Risk based approach and evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of the present system

When necessary: lungs, kidneys, umbilical regions, joints, certain lymph nodes.Flexibility: only visual inspection for fattening pigs housed under controlled housing conditions in integrated production systems.
