First semester flew by very quickly. We just completed the second nine week benchmarks and I am hap-py to report our students have made significant gains. As we begin second semester, I would like to encourage all parents to take more of an active role on checking on their chil-dren’s homework and class activities. We are gearing up for the first Standards of Learning test which is the 08 Writing and Multiple Choice test in March. We want all our students to understand the importance of passing the SOL’s. Please have a conversation with your child everyday about academics. I would also like to invite all parents to our Black History program scheduled for February 27th at 6:00. Please come out for a fun filled educa-tional program. As always,
thank you for all the support you give us in educating your child and in molding them to be respectful, responsi-ble, and ready to learn students.

Eagle Ambassadors program to assist our 8th graders
with educational endeavors and career exploration. We
host a Lunch & Learn Speaker’s Bureau each month
with community partners who will speak on their educa-

share nuggets of wisdom with the students regarding
the career choices and to help them broaden their hori-

the AG’s office), and Ms. Harris (from CIS) for helping us
to have an awesome program launch!!
