Manufacturing & Solutions Expo 2016
3D Matters participated in the Manufacturing & Solutions Expo (“MSE”) held at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on 12th to 14th October and reached out to various manufacturing and engineering professionals who were keen to understand the latest advancements in how metal printing and 3D printing in general. could help their companies realize time and cost savings.
We were heartened to get a feedback from one of our visitors that 3D Matters is truly an early adopter of commercial 3D printing and one of the very few companies based in Singapore that had both domain expertise and design capabilities to create truly functional end products that go beyond display shelves to integrate into working systems and solve operational needs.
As one of the additive manufacturing leaders in Southeast Asia, our CEO Matthew Waterhouse was invited to be a guest speaker at the Manutech Xchange segment of the MSE on 14th October.
Sharing on the topic of ‘Extending the Lifespan of Equipment through 3D printing’, he gave an
overview on the innovation roadmap within the 3D printing industry and provided real-life examples of how 3D printing can help companies avoid complete replacements, improve product redesign and reduce overall logistics costs for leaner manufacturing and just-in-time production.

Love is definitely in the air at 3D Matters! Following our CEO Matthew’s wedding a few months ago, we have another blessed union of our company founders Mark and Hayden who registered their marriage on 30th September. Although the humble couple wanted to keep the happy announcement low-key, our 3D Matters family still decided that it would be fun to spring a surprise on them with a customized cake and keepsake to celebrate the moment.

%Subsea wellhead model for the Oil & Gas Sector%
3D Matters specializes in B2B additive manufacturing and one of our strengths is providing 3D printing solutions for the marine and offshore sector. Following the highly complex and striking JGC facility model presented in a previous issue, we would like to showcase another intricate model that we did for NuStar Technologies, a homegrown company offering innovative solutions to challenging land and offshore engineering projects.
For this particular collaboration, NuStar had requested for a replica of their subsea wellhead system, which is a pressure containing vessel used to hang-off and seal the different casing strings in the drilling of subsea wells. The subsea wellhead system, rated to 15,000 psi working pressure and able to withstand a 10,000 feet water depth, also provides the structural foundation to connect their subsea blowout preventer stack.
The subsea wellhead model currently serves as a good visual communication tool across NuStar’s various customer meetings and exhibition events. In fact, it has even made its debut overseas in Russia earlier this year, when NuStar participated in the NETFTEGAZ 2016 at Expocentre, Moscow from 18 April to 21 April 2016. This exhibition served as a meeting place for experts and visitors in the oil and gas industry, providing information on the latest developments in equipment and machinery in the field as well as opportunities for discussions with experts on the latest issues.
