Exalted Ruler’s Message
Hi Everyone,
I would like to start by
congratulating our new State
President Paul C Galarneau
from the Cohoes-Waterford
Lodge. He was installed into
office at the Clifton Park lodge
on May16, 2020.
Despite the trying times we are in, and the cancellation of
the Spring Convention, we were able to swear Paul in,
under the pavilion with a parade of cars, following social
distancing protocols. This was still a great honor, and we
wish Paul luck this year!
In the past 2 and half months we were reminded of many things that are different and we
worried about our love ones, our friends and yes those we don’t know. Some of us still
worked, some found ways to help, and some made masks.
I would like to share with you something that I read on Facebook:
Something invisible has come and put everything in its place.
Suddenly the gasoline went down, pollution went down, people started to have more time -
so much time that they do not know what to do with it - parents are spending time with
their kids as a family, work is no longer a priority, or traveling or social life either.
Suddenly we silently see within ourselves and understand the value of the words "solidarity",
"love", "strength", "empathy" and "faith".
In an instant we realized that we are all in the same boat; rich and poor.

Tip of the Antler
I would like to thank
our members for
making sandwiches to feed the
community through the City
Mission. Thank you for the extra
effort to make this important
event happen and to any one
else that has helped or given a
hand in these times, whether it
was making masks or helping to
feed others or essential workers,
thank you all and you’re in our
prayers.

House Committee Report
Dear members, while the lodge has been
closed for the past few months, your house
committee has been very busy. Many
improvements have been made. Some are
visible like upgrading the mens room,
painting the ladies room, painting the
stairs, ceilings, baseboards, walls and
benches. Some behind the scene
Improvements included-to save water with
new fixtures, save heating and A/C by
changing some blowers and wiring and to
save electricity by installing LED lighting.
Special thanks to all that helped out
including Bob T., Kelvin K., Rich P, Shane C.
and many others. Once we get clearance to
open we expect to resume our popular
Wednesday night dinners. Remember to
reserve the lodge for your events early to
avoid any scheduling conflicts. We expect
to be open shortly, so stop by and see all
the improvements.

That the supermarket shelves are empty
and the hospitals are full.
New cars and old cars also stand in the
garages, simply because nobody can get
out.
Empty streets, less pollution, clean air, the
land also breathes.
The human returns to his origins, realizing
that with or without money, the important
thing is to survive.
Today, health is the main thing, even in
spite of wanting to have or possessing.
It took 6 days for the universe to establish
the social equality that was said to be
impossible.
Fear invaded everyone.
At least this happened to realize the
vulnerability of the human being.
Nature is forcing us to clean up the mess
made by ourselves.
Our overthrown gods: -Money -Sports -
Fame -Politics
What the corona virus is teaching us.
Our best protection: FAITH -Our best
refuge: HOME - Our best company: FAMILY
- Our real time: TODAY - Nature's call: STOP
US - Its message: WAIT, RESPECT.
We are not gods, we are not kings, and we
do not have the power of controlling
everything.
We are part of a whole, fragile, brittle and
vulnerable something.
Part of a whole something that we wanted
to dominate & today is telling us: Stop,
breathe, respect. Go back to the basics, to
the essentials, that the peace of your soul
guide you towards what you are: a
CREATION.
I would like to take a minute and say that
we are thinking of all of you, and hoping
you are all well.
We are hoping that soon we can start up
the Wed night dinners, so please watch out
for that!
They may start out as TOGO meals!
I would like to take this moment to remind
everyone to follow social distancing
protocols; these are in place for yourselves
and those around you! Fraternally, Fred Mowers, ER

Our New NYS Elks State President
On Saturday, May 16th at 4pm, Paul C.
Galarneau was installed as the NYS Elks
State President along with State Vice
President Robert Lumpkins and State
Trustee Thomas Waring at the Clifton Park
Elks by Past Grand Tiler Paul A. Galarneau.
Our District attendees arrived in a
wonderful car parade lead by our Exalted
Ruler Richard Hogan and his wife Regina.
Past State President Brian Greene received
his past state president pin from Grand
Trustee Bruce Hidley. State President Paul
and his lovely wife Kristen brought their
pins with them. We are so incredibly proud
and even though they didn't get the
celebration they deserved, the District made
the best of it as the Great Northeast District
ROCKS!
Participating in the vehicle parade from our lodge
to celebrate our new State President Paul C.
