*The Scion driver, front passenger, front seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags are Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS). The driver and front passenger airbags are designed to deploy in severe (usually frontal) collisions where the magnitude and duration of the forward deceleration of the vehicle exceeds the design threshold level. The side airbags and side curtain airbags are designed to inflate in severe side-impact collisions. In all other accidents, the airbags will not inflate.To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying airbag, always wear seat belts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far backas possible from the airbag modules and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an airbag or around the seatback. Do not use rearward-facing child seats in any front passenger seat. The force of a deploying airbag SRS may cause serious injury or death. Please see our Owner’s Manual for further instructions.

For audio components, Scion went to well-known supplier, Pioneer. Every Scion vehicle will come equipped with a standard Pioneer AM/FM/CD sound system featuring 6-speakers and Scion Sound Processing (SSP). This digital sound processing feature offers three settings:

1. SSP Neutral keeps the music in the background2. SSP Hear enhances the sounds with crisp highs and lows3. SSP Feel goes all the way, with a

sound curve that lets passengers not only hear the music, but feel it

The CD player in this system recognizes downloaded MP3 files. And the head unit is set up to act as a satellite radio controller, for those Scion owners who choose to add the accessory receiver and antenna, available from their Scion dealer.

There’s even an optional Pioneer system with an in-dash 6-CD Changer. This head unit has the same features as the standard

system, but adds an illumination feature that changes among 10 colors at the touch of a button. Even the radio can be personalized to your mood or your lifestyle.

And for real audiophiles, you can add an accessory subwoofer to either of the Pioneer audio systems.
