When you are conducting a science investigation, it is important to be safe!

Read all directions carefully before starting

an activity or lab.

Ask your teacher for help if you do not understand

the directions.

Never eat or drink while in science class!

You might get

poisoned!

Never taste chemicals unless your teacher tells

you to do so.



Never directly smell any chemical.



Instead WAFT the chemical toward your nose!

Wear safety goggles when you are working with chemical or whenever

your teacher tells you to wear them.





Do not touch your face, mouth, or eyes while handling chemicals.



Report all accidents to your teacher immediately.

Examine all equipment before using.

Be careful not to touch hot materials with your bare

hands.



Wash your hands after any lab that uses chemicals.



Keep your work area clear except for science

materials.

Do not run or play in science class.

Clean up your work space before the

end of class.
