Science Science allows students to explore and study various aspects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry using real world contexts. Students will develop skills to investigate strategies and possible solutions to address major challenges we are facing now and in the future. Northern Adelaide Senior College | 2 Woodford Road, Elizabeth | (08) 7285 1600 | Understand why and how infectious diseases spread Expand your knowledge of atomic structure and electrical circuits Expand your knowledge about chemical reactions Students will have the opportunity to learn transferable experimental and problem-solving skills through real-life investigations such as looking at the effectiveness of hand sanitiser on bacteria. Prerequisite: NIL SACE Stage I | 10 Credits | One Semester Assessment: Stage I 75% Inquiry Folio, 25% Collaborative Inquiry Future Pathways: Prepares students for the Stage 2 Science subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These science subjects can be a pathway to courses and careers in: the sciences, health or social sciences, and engineering, also physical sciences when studied with Mathematics. Transferable Skills: Problem-solving: apply science enquiry skills to conduct investigations and analyse evidence to solve problems and make conclusions. Learning: manage own learning and work collaboratively sharing knowledge and experience. Communication: communicate knowledge and understanding using appropriate writing styles and to others.
