Dear Colleagues,
We are grateful to The Indian Chest Society and The National College of Chest Physicians(I) for giving us the opportunity to host the 19TH NAPCON 2017.
The 19th NAPCON is going to be held at Science City, Kolkata from 16th to 19th November 2017.
The theme of NAPCON 2017 is PRECISION MEDICINE: Treating A Malady, Not A Label; Tomorrow’s Approach to Respiratory Disease.
The Organizing Committee of the 19th NAPCON is working hard to put together an educational and scientic program at NAPCON 2017. It will be a scientic feast for all those present for this prestigious conference. There would be many renowned International and National speakers who will share their expertise and knowledge in various aspects of Respiratory Medicine.
We assure you that NAPCON 2017 will be a complete package combined with academics, socializing & ‘Flavors of Kolkata.’
Kolkata is a city where the world connects. It is a thriving metropolis with a dazzling array of attractions – from the more sedate pleasures of its famous art galleries, museums and historic edices to the bustle of the city’s commercial heart and busy shopping areas…the list is virtually endless.
Apart from attending a thoroughly engaging Congress, delegates will have a unique environment to meet colleagues from around the world, to exchange experiences and most importantly, to create memories that will help change the way we see and practice Pulmonology.
Regards,
Welcome to NAPCON 2017

About Kolkata : The City of JoyThe city’s former name, Calcutta, is an Anglicized version of the Bengali name Kalikata. According to some, Kalikata is derived from the Bengali word Kalikshetra, meaning “Ground of (the goddess) Kali.” Now known as Kolkata.
Kolkata has a subtropical climate with a seasonal regime of monsoons (rain-bearing winds). It is warm year-round, with average high temperatures ranging from about 80 °F (27 °C) in December and January to nearly 100 °F (38 °C) in April and May. During October and November, the rainfall dwindles. The winter months, from about the end of November to the end of February, are pleasant and rainless.
The rst attempt for the introduction of a proper medical training was undertaken by Lord William Bentinck. As a fruit of his effort and long persuasion, government order was passed to set up a medical college in Calcutta which is known as Calcutta Medical College. As the resolution was passed on 28th January,1835, this day is observed as the Foundation Day of the College. What we see at the premises of Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, did not exist during the early period of its inception. An old house at the rear of the Hindu College was converted for use as the New Medical College.
