Home is where the heart is; and there is plenty ofheart here at Oak Hills. The staff and residents sharelots of quality time and the Auxiliary works to providesupport to the staff in order to allow for this qualitytime.
Hospitality by definition is the friendly and gener-ous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors or
strangers. Synonyms are: warmth, kindness, courtesy, helpfulnessand neighborliness. I guessyou can see that Oak Hillsoffers plenty of hospitalityon a daily basis.
Hope is front and centerat this time of year and it isthe hope of the Auxiliary that
you and your loved ones are sur-rounded by love and are able to enjoy
the season with love and joy. It is also our hope that ifyou have any time to spare you would consider volun-teering to help us make Oak Hills a festive and hos-pitable place everyday for everyone! You can discussvolunteer opportunities with Rachal Becker by calling507-233-0819.Oh and don’t forget, the Gift Shop and the Trolley
are still active during construction. The Gift Shop isopen weekdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the Trolleywill return on February 4th. After the renovations arecompleted, we hope to have some new things involv-ing the Gift Shop and the Trolley. Thank you for your past support. We look forward toworking with you in 2018!

As we start the New Year, I would like to taketime to reflect on all the great things that happened in2017. We just wrapped up a very busy Holiday Sea-son with Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are sograteful for all the volunteers who donate their timehelping with the many festivities we offer at OakHills. We are blessed to have so many people whoare willing to share their talents by singing, playingan instrument or sharing their more creative side bycreating cards and ornaments for the residents tokeep. I would like to take this time to say, “Thankyou” to the community for all their support this pastyear. We look forward to sharing many more memo-ries in 2018. In October, Oak Hills received the Employer of
the Year Award from the Association of Nutritionand Foodservice Professionals. I was honored to beable to represent Oak Hills at the ANFP AnnualMeeting in St. Cloud and to accept the award. The Oak Hills team continues to strive to make
this community a great place to reside and work. Wehave participated in several extra programs this yearwhich have helped create a better quality of life forthe residents. We have been participating in a PIPPprogram, QIIP program, and Performance Excel-lence. These programs center around better-qualitycare and customer service.Gutes Essen Café will open in January. Look for
more information soon about a grand opening cele-bration. We hope to see many of you stop in to checkout the daily specials. There is a lot of excitement in our community
centered around our Minnesota Vikings footballteam. We have been celebrating their successful sea-son by having tailgate parties, watching the games to-gether, and wearing our favorite Vikings apparel. Our Memorial Foundation’s annual Bowling
Fundraiser is scheduled for Monday, February 12thwith a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. If you are lookingto have a fun afternoon and are interested in support-ing Oak Hills, I recommend participating in thisevent. This year we are fundraising for a walkingpath on the Oak Hills Campus. Here’s wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and
prosperous New Year!
