Thursday 9th October 2014 School swimming Earlier this week notes were sent home for this year’s school Swimming Scheme, to run from 27th October to the 7th November. Students will attend daily swimming lessons on 10 consecutive days at Cessnock pool. The target students are those who are not able to swim 25 metres confidently and are aged 8 and over. We have 50 places made available—I encourage all interested parents to get notes back as soon as possible as the places will fill quickly. Magpie update Since our return from vacation our resident magpies appear to have ceased swooping behaviours, instead focussing upon their chicks. As a result we have been able to open the fields again, much to the relief of the students. The students have been very good natured about the disruption the magpies caused, with several classes using this as a learning experience to research magpies and their breeding habits. Final Kindergarten Orientation Session The final Orientation Session for 2015 Kindergarten students will be held next Wednesday 15th October. I encourage all of our 2015 kindergarten students to attend—during this session they will meet their buddies for 2015 and have the opportunity to buy lunch from the canteen. The session commences at 9.30am, finishing at 11.15am.
