Our Level 1 Program in Ayurveda is for those individuals who aspire to become Ayurvedic Consultants, helping themselves, their families, or their clients, transition to a holistic way of life, supported by a plant-based diet, nature’s life-promoting resources, and multiple natural healing modalities. She is a Trustee of The Sambodh Society, Inc. and Program Coordinaor for the Sambodh Center for Human Excellence, Kalamazoo, MI. She has been a student of Ayurveda since the mid 1980s when she was introduced to a Tibetan Ayurvedic doctor on one of her many trips to India. Ashlesha Raut, B.A.M.S., M.D. (Ayur), CNC Dr. Ashlesha Raut earned her BAMS and MD degrees in Ayurveda from the Univer- sity of Mumbai (India) and is a Certified Nutritional Consultant. In addition she has Certification in Integrative Medicine and has considerable experience in the teaching of Ayurveda and maintains an Ayurvedic practice in Bloomington, IL. Bill Courson, B.V.S. (Ayur), D. Ayurveda Bill Courson is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Ayurveda (Diplomate in Ayurveda) and the Sai Ayurvedic College of Miami (BVSA), and teaches and practices Ayurveda at both institutions. He is also a Certified Herbalist in the Western herbal tradition and practices Ayurveda in Montclair, NJ Jyothi Bhatt, B.A.M.S., Certified Yoga & Massage Therapist Jyothi Bhatt’s BAMS degree is from the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwar College of Ayurveda, Karnataka, India. She studied yoga at the Bihar School of Yoga and the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana. In 2015 she successfully completed a Physician’s Assistant degree and practices in NY. Beena Vesikar, B.A.M.S., M.D. (Ayur) Dr. Beena Vesikar earned degrees from the University of Pune, India. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Certified Clinical Nutrition Consultant, NCBTMB Provider, and a Specialist in Ayurvedic Therapies and Panchakarma. She is the founder of BeAyurvedic Wellness Center in Farmington, Hills, MI, where she maintains an ayurvedic practice. Prathibha Balan, B.A.M.S. Practicum Director Prathibha Balan received her B.A.M.S. degree from Calicut University, Kerala, India, earning a Diploma in Clinical Weight Loss Management and a Specialist in Ayurvedic Diet and Food Preparation. Her Internships include: Post-Natal Care; Ayurvedic Ophthalmology; Women’s Health and Wellness; & Yoga Therapy for Children and Adults. She practiced Ayurveda in MN prior to moving to MI. Institute Administration & Faculty Ruth Small, Ph.D., Administrative Director

Dr. Ruth Small, Institute Director, is a former faculty member of Western Michigan University and has extensive experience in academia.
