Head Teacher’s Welcome

As Rector, my intention is to be a highly visible presence in and outside the school, supporting and challenging students to achieve the best possible outcomes and promoting an ethos for excellence in everything we do.

At Trinity Academy we take partnership working seriously. We work very closely with our associated Primary Schools to ensure a smooth transition into Secondary School. We have also built excellent relationships with our Parent Council and Student Council who are key players in our journey to excellence. In addition, and in order to listen to the wider parent voice, I have initiated a parent surgery on a Wednesday evening from 3pm until 4pm, whereby all parents are encouraged to discuss any matter with me without appointment.

Our aim is nothing less than to deliver the best possible outcomes for all our young people, and I look forward to working closely with parents, children and the wider community to achieve this goal.

Bryan Paterson

Class Cover – Expectations

• All classes in all subjects are entitled to a quality learning experience at all times

• In situations of teacher absence, all classes covered are also entitled to a positive learning experience

• As far as reasonably possible, cover classes should be left appropriately engaging learning materials for the cover teacher to deliver

• The CL is responsible for delivering quality in the faculty and therefore is also responsible for management and deployment of the cover teacher. For example, It is recognised that CL may wish to swap classes being taken by cover teachers

• As far as is reasonably possible, and certainly where advance notification of absence has been given, lesson plans and materials will be readily available to cover teacher

• As far as reasonably possible, and as above, learning intentions will be identified for cover lessons

• As far as reasonably possible, cover teachers will actively engage with the class being covered and ensure good order and a positive learning experience

• Class cover teacher is responsible for registering cover classes on a period by

period basis. If in doubt consult Curriculum Leader.
