Football- National and County Cup success Congratulations to the 1st XI who won 4-3 on penalties against St Aidan’s. Despite losing 2-1 at half-time, they came back to draw 3-3 in normal time, after which they held their nerve from the penalty spot to progress into the 3rd round. Well done also to our U13 and U14 boy’s teams, who both recorded big wins over Ebor Academy Filey in the 1st round of the county cup. After a long journey over to the east coast, the boys quickly got over their tiredness to win both games by heavy score lines. Both ages now play Rossett in the next round

Girl’s Hockey Well done to our U14 girl’s, on Thursday they beat Rossett 3-0. A spirited display by the girl’s saw them come away with a well-deserved victory.

50/50 club50/50 clubThe PTA committee are excited to announce the launch of this year’s 50/50 Club. It is an ideal way to support the school’s fund raising efforts, especially if you don’t always have time to attend PTA events. You could be in for a win!

What is it?

The 50/50 Club is covered by our Small Lotteries licence and involves each school supporter contributing to the PTA. Depending on the level of contribution, each supporter is given one or more lottery numbers and £12 buys one lottery number. Purchasing a number gives the owner one chance of winning per month for 12 months (i.e. 12 chances over a year). A lucky number is drawn each month and over the year, the value of the prizes equate 50% of the total fund with the other 50% going to the PTA to support a range of exciting and innovative school projects.

Just imagine if each of the 1800 families in the school contributed £12 to the scheme, over the year, £10,800 would be distributed in prizes and £10,800 would go into the PTA funds.

Supporters must be over 18 years old.

How do I get involved?

Lucky numbers can be purchased for £12 each, giving one chance per month over the year to win a prize. There is no limit to the amount of numbers that can be purchased. Winners will be directly informed and names will be published in the PTA section of the school website.

To purchase a number, or numbers, either fill out the attached form and pay by cheque made out to Harrogate Grammar School PTA, pay by cash or by BACS Transfer to Account name: Harrogate Grammar School PTA, SORT CODE: 40-23-12, Account Number: 42333287, giving your name in the reference box.

Completed forms should be returned to the PTA letterbox in school by Friday 3rd November 2017. The first draw of the year will take place at the end of November. There will be an extra draw at Christmas and Easter.

Please join the 50/50 club and support your PTA and the school.
